The fact is that we can win with any formation in Serie A. CL seems to be an issue because this is where we need to step up.

You don't see teams so weak technically in CL who just sit back and let our CBs + Pirlo play their game. In CL we're constantly pressed and this issue has to be solved.

So true. I mean ffs we always play from the back, just look at the average number of passes per game. Not just Bonucci who is 2nd play maker but also Chiellini and Barzagli have more passes than Vidal, Pogba or Marchisio for instance. You would think more skillful players should lead the game.

We need to keep the 3man backline.

Pirlo, would work very well in the past but his decline is to much. sure, in games where he isnt pressed, or can send balls over the defence he'll still be good, but thats it.

we should look to move to 3-4-1-2.
Because we got pogba we can. Play vidal and pogba as central midfielders, with two defensive wingers on the side. get an attacking midfielder as playmaker and two forwards, one creative, one scoring

mwah, our current wingbacks are pretty damn good, just need to play em right. wich is mostly to create space.

The issue is the team finding itself currently. With tevez we suddenly got a massive shift in creativity from decaying pirlo to him. Yet we seriously lack the build up.

This team seriously needs tevez-llorente, or a fit tevez-vucinic, with in form midfield

currently, the 3 central midfielders have been very average.


I'll go as far as saying that pirlo isnt justifying sacrificing an offensive player for him anymore at the level he currently plays

The biggest problem when a team witha 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 aganist a 3-5-2 is the wingbacks are forced to play aganist 2 opponents. There are other problems too but if we cant get it out of our backline then why are we even playing with 3 defenders?

We did not win because of very poor finishing, their goalkeeper's stellar form, and Conte's refusal to bring in Llorente. Swinging all those crosses would have made more sense with a 6' 5" striker in their penalty box.
