There are different cases of players when a club looks for potential transfers. Almost every player you sign contains a risk. There is only a very small category of players that are almost sure to succeed. Isco belongs in this.

The last such players we signed was Neddy and Buffon. None of the new ones. Tevez was a troublemaker. Barzagli a ''finished'' one, as well as Pirlo. Vidal an unknown quantity that could or not make it in the higher level. Krasic the same, as well as Lichty, Asamoah and Isla. Pogba a talent. A wonderful one, but still only a talent. Llorente a player untested on the highest leve. All of those huge gambles. Some of those made it, some others not.

But Isco is something different. He is extremely talented. He was considered in the top 5 of talents when Real signed him. He has been proven in the top level. He dragged Malaga to the semi-finals at a very young age and they would be in the final if they had not manage to conceive 2 goals in a handful of minutes. He has re-sale value. There is only a small gamble with him, as he has not played outside Spain, but still succeeding in the CL makes me think that he can change his style depending on the opponent. Also, in the start of last season, when Real played with an AM, he was brilliant. Then Real changed to a 4-3-3 to accommodate Bale and Ronaldo, and he was dropped for Di Maria in the MC position.

The reasons that he is not a starer to real are not related to performance. They are firstly marketing reasons. Real wants the last shinning thing of the world cup. And its also that Isco never managed to convert to a CM as successfully as Di Maria did. I wont blame him for this. Some players can play in a lot of positions, some can't.

Of course, as a lot of you mentioned, Real can easily hold on him as a backup. There is not an issue of money. But, will he accept it? I hope not. He has already 1 year of not improving enough under his belt. He can't afford a second one in such a tender age. I hope he demands for a transfer for his own good.

If he does so, I hope our board sees that he belongs in those special cases that it's worth braking your limits for. I am against teams braking their financial limits for players, unless however something really special comes up. And Isco belongs there.

Would he come to us? Well, I can't think of a lot of teams that are more appealing to us. Liverpool? 1 year overachieving and choking at the end does not make you a stable European power. Yes, they have money, but its also Isco's will. We are demonstrating a stable improvement over the last years. Even without Conte, we are keeping all our stars as it seems and also signing some new. He will have an assured Key role here and complete the last piece of the puzzle in our conversion to 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-2-1. His wage is not crazy. And we also have a group of Spanish and Spanish-speaking players who would make him feel like home.

Guys, this is one of the very few cases that there is a player so suited in a teams play and under such conditions. I know that Marotta is not an amateur. He sees all this. I hope the board decides to make this investment and not be afraid from our past flops aka Diego etc.

    Crossing fingers.:xfinger:

Isco is one of those deals that make too much sesne.

That and probably many top clubs will pursue him and offer a better fee to to RM and higher wages to Isco. Unless Isco pulls a Morata, I can't see this deal being nearly possible.

That said, I would be content with Pastore or Lavezzi. But even those are very iffy.

    :sigh:

    Conte: the truth!
    Llorente adopts Morata.
Passarella: Pereyra has similarities to Di Maria
