but if you look at it this way:

lets say we play 4-3-3 and get Sanchez and Lamela/Cuadrado, we would have Tevez and Llorente as the main strikers to rotate, we would have Gio at the bench as a backup for one of the wingers, we are very likely to sign Lulic (backup LB and winger) AND add to that the possibiliy of signing Menez for free... wouldnt that be enough wingers, and wouldnt a creative CAM be more important to have (because i dont want to relly only on Pirlo to create everything from the middle) and if a talented, still young (22) player like Eriksen is available (who also can play left in a 4-2-3-1), wouldnt it be better to get him???

thats how i see it too. thats why we are interested in Sanchez (SS, RW, LW), Cuadrado (RWB, RW, LW) Lulic (LB, LWB, LW) - players that work in both systems. and this is why i want Eriksen (CM, AM) because the summer after, when we will hopefully make a permanent change of formations, i want that change to be to a 4-2-3-1, not 4-3-3...

if you read, I say that using a different one just for Europe is retarted, im fine with 2 formations. but the players need to play with a formation on a consistent basis to maximise its potential.
