We define world class very differently. I can think of perhaps just 10 world class strikers in the whole world. PSG have both Zlatan and Cavani, we have Tevez.
both pastore and lavelli were class today scoring 2 goals against a good Chelsea side. both goals were made by individual performances. Osvaldo vucinic giovinco could not have done that without the help of someone like pogba or vidal.quags scored 2 goals last year but again they were made by pirlo and marchisio.

We're too defensive minded. And we can not pull a Di Matteo because we're far too slow and can't counter to save our lives.

Raki is correct. Our defense and midfield is amongst the best yet inferior teams control the game against us due to how we're set up. If we had a proper attacking plan with a pair of quality Wingers we would be an actual threat. Of course we would be a bit weaker defensively but obviously our current set up is being figured out by more and more opposition

European teams already know how to make us panic
Gala with a pensioners squad that makes Inter Milan blush, under a new coach and an entirely new formation made life difficult for us

You could put it down to a fluke but in reality the key against us is pressure. Under modest pressure our wingbacks are pinned back, Pirlo is put into an uncomfortable position and our strikers are completely and utterly stranded.

We're old fashioned basically. Works fine in serie A against renowned but stubborn managers but even that will not last forever

Two things that are affecting us in Europe: (In my opinion)

1) Pirlo. I love the guy to pieces, but Europe is so much more fast paced than Serie A. Pirlo is usually marked, pressed, and smothered and can't do anything. It would be nice to have a more athletic midfield powered by strength, pace, relentlessness. (Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, Asamoah)

2) We need another tricky forward. Tevez and Llorente are great strikers but we rely on Tevez to do too much. Llorente had a great run in the CL this year and banged out a lot of goals, if we give Llorente a chance at net he'll net it. I'm really hoping that tricky forward is Cuadrado. Great with his feet and full of speed, as well as versatile. He could really help us unlock stubborn defences.

1) if let's say a team were playing 433 against us like real Madrid where pirlo was not pressed then pirlo is a great asset to have on the pitch but let's say we face someone like atletico Madrid which use a 4231 where the AM marks pirlo then it's better to use someone like marchisio instead to add some defensive cover for the defence.

2) Yeah, another sppedy and penetrating player is a MUST for us to compete with the likes of PSG, Real barca etc... Cuadrado would be superb but someone like shaqiri would also be great. we also need some deph in midfield and a proper leftback!

Llorente only scored 2 goals. They were important but nah that's not banging goals in

Llo would be better in the middle of a 433 but Tevez is better than he is so it's not worth it.
it's better to play a fake 433 which can be interpreted as a 4321 with tevez and another pacy tricky player behind to support llorente. tevez to operate in a free role.

Im still hoping for a 4231 and an improvement over Llorente. Nothing against him but he's on way too much to be a bench option and he's too reliable on other players for my liking. In a game where we're being pinned back we essentially have 10 men. Too clumsy

Immobile will play instead :D, Immobile is following the pattern of a lot of big strikers in Europe right now. Both costa and lewadolski scored around 20 goals at the age of 24. when they were 23 they scored around 8-10 goals. same with immobile. I recon this guy can really shine if conte gives him the chance and we play him in the right way and support him well.

its really hard to change to a new formation now when we used 2 summers buying players that fit into the 3-5-2. for a 4-3-3 now, we would need 4 wingers, a LB (or a backup CM and play Asa on the left) and bench a player whos on 4.5M salary which we, if you look at what we have financially, cant do in 1 transfer window. thats why players like Cuadrado (RW, RWB), Lulic (all wide positions), Candreva (RW, AM, CM) that can work in the 3-5-2 and in a wing-based formation are very important to get now. then, the summer after we can focus on changing formations if we get a starter calibre winger...

The 4-2-3-1/4-2-4 would really serve us well. It would also be very easy to change to back to a 3-5-2.

Juventus have used 24 players this season in Serie A, less than any other club. + PDC and Motta played the 1st half of the season and we got Osvaldo the last 7-8 matches. and here is your reason why we "suck" lately. you cant play with the same XI every 3 days and expect them to allways play the same and dominate like they were machines.

rotation is very important and we dont (cant) use that effectively. Bayern never played a game this season in the BL with the same XI as the previous and their players are allways perfectly rested. thats why getting some depth this summer will improve us drastically...

Yeah I think we could easily just go back to a 352 occasionally anyway. I'd hate for us to stall now and halt progress for the sake of buying players suited to a flawed formation

Yeah the lack of rotation hindered us. But even when we're fit & firing we just look insanely predictable and far too reliant on a bit of individual magic.
