But club football is different in that you can have players of several different nationalities comprise a team. Juventus has a huge fan base in Southern Italy, and there are fan groups that originate from Sweden that actually attend matches. Club football is based first and foremost on city, then the players in which they employ, most of the time not of one single nationality. Therefore, club football transcends borders and unites people of different footballing origins, which is pretty much the point of club football considering essentially anyone can play for any team.

That is in stark contrast from international football where nationality is all that matters. It is the single item that divides all teams, and is essentially all inclusive when it comes to support as well.
nationality is what matters FOR YOU not for me. For me and many others its 11 entertaining guys wearing the same jersey regardless of its club or country.

If a league requires every club to have a certain % of players be of a particular nationality, that doesnt entail that I have to be of that nationality to like that club.

Kant would say that we can judge a man by his treatment of animals. Not a fuucking football team.
Kant's moral arguments were horrible btw.

That's the only thing me and Bjerknes will agree upon. Support your own nation.

If you're not of Italian descent, didn't or don't live there, never even been there and don't speak the language, you're just a glory hunter. I doubt you'd support them if they were not a successful national team. Hate me all you want.
We were all glory hunters when we supported Juve. Its no coincidence that Juve has that many fans from outside of turin

If you think you can accomplish something on a football forum, then we have different problems. I don't expect anyone to change their opinions on here, I just expect them to lose the debate.
You can't debate certain things, it just becomes intrusive. You have no business telling others for whom they have the right to cheer for.

10 yo kid turns on the TV, sees Italy vs Ireland, Italians losing the game, some strange feeling overwhelms him, sensation he's never felt before when watching a game; glory hunting?

Not yet. Belgium is like Monaco now . Italy like Barcelona. No one knows what Belgium are capable of, much of fame but they didnt win nothing in last decade
The media finds Belgium to have a better team. But they lack good cover in the midfield. Wilmots believe Dembele and Witsel can hold 4 offensive players.
They'll get smashed against stronger teams.

They didnt win the past decade, cause the previous generation was extremely bad

Fuck this shit. 7 pages of Badass vs Rakib, and Andy riling people up (and people actually arguing with him on a matter he has spewed his BS on countless times before).

What the fuck are the mods doing? It is the Wishlist thread FFS!

Again, people come here (supposedly) to get away from the tyranny or lack of opportunity in their home nation. Why would they come here and still support their original nation? It doesn't make sense. Moreover, one can draw the comparison that those that do still support their original nation in political or societal matters still hold loyalty to said country, which means that they are only in the US to potentially leech off the system. Everybody knows work opportunities are dwindling in the US of A, so that leaves the benefit system the only real opportunity for possible immigrants.

You keep saying those that support the USA don't know what "good" football is, yet you live here. I guess in a roundabout manner, one could say that you as a possible (but not probable) taxpayer support the USA in one way or another, which means you do support the USMNT.

Hopefully that'll be enough to jettison you and your family back to the motherland.
My family and I moved to this country for opportunities in which we weren't getting in Italy. How does that have to do anything with supporting a national team which has no relation to me? That last statement :facepalm2:

According to rumors coming from Spain, the Basque talent Iker Muniain will not renew the contract expires in June 2015 with the Atletic Bilbao. The Basque club does not want to relive the experience of Llorente and try, so either renew or transfer in the summer session. The demand for the release clause and 'of 36 million Euros. Also Juventus seem interested in the player but not at those figures, it is spoken by over half over.

Agresti has been saying for almost a year that we are going to do the same thing with Muniain, what we have done with Llorente. So I expect our bid in the summer, Bilbao accept it or face the same story.
