Cerci falling out with the Torino fans already ;)

Nani,Lamela,possibly Jovetic..Who else ? Kagawa ?

Its a World Cup year too so i can see many scenarios opening up this summer.
Jovetic unfortunately I think will stay at City, Kagawa will head back to Germany, Lamela despite his poor season Tottenham will still demand alot of money for him. Nani fits our bill lately if we intend to keep our best players, he has reasonable wages, untapped quality and his transfer fee would be low.

I don't know why people are calling Verratti a defensive liability, he's not a traditional regista a la Pirlo, he some parts of the game is infront at the defense, but he normally occupies a position akin to Xavi's role, and this season he has been maybe the best performer in league and in europe alongside Zlatan. He is the key to their possesion-based style, and also playing alongside two defensive-minded midfielders help him a lot (Motta and Matuidi).

He would have those type of players if he came here (Vidal, the best in the world in this type, Asamoah and even Marchisio) so he would 't suffee a lot defensively, especially because of the improvement he had this season.

I'd rather not limit Vidals attacks just so he can baby sit this $#@!ing midget
I don't think it would limit him a lot, see Matuidi's role for PSG which is similar to Vidal's, in any case the one which would have to cover it would be Marchisio/asamoah in the Motta role, which allows Verratti and motta to rotate positions with a lot fluidity.

I think keeping a 3 man midfield would allow Vidal to keep going forward, I'm not that sure that he would be that effective if he played in a midfield two and behind a trequartista.

I agree that a midfield 2 would limit Vidal, However ideally i'd rather we just used Marchisio in the holding role or we went after a holding midfielder. Allowing Vidal and Pogba (If he's still here) or Asamoah to attack without worrying about the man in the middle.

As we seen with Marchisio at DM this season, it's great to have somebody in the middle of the park who can actually protect the defence and isn't left for dead when we're being counter attacked.

And I agree, but with Pirlo's decline, we would actually need a crestive midfielder, whether it's a regista or an interior it's up for debate. Ideally I would like Kroos or Gundogan, but with Pogba's situation an Verratti been linked with Juve so much we could get something from that. Another creative midfielder, a winger with creative capabilities (Like Vela or Firmino, which is a 10 but has a lot of movements in which he starts on the wing) and a LB we could be vert flexible. Sign Menez and Murru on a free, a winger a kin to Griezmann or Vela or a player like Firmino, if available sign Coentrao, and try to keep Pogba. If he wants to leave then milk him the most we can.

I am a big fan of Kroos but I can't see us getting him

Gundogan would be plausible I guess with Pogba money if we sell him. The thing is, we definitely DO need a creative midfielder if we insist on sticking to the back 3 system with Wing backs. Which imo would be crazy.

But if we had 1 genuine top class Winger, with Tevez on the other side and Llorente in the middle. We would be much less in need of a midfielder like that.

Nani news coming again. And it's Inter and us being linked.. again.

Loan with option to buy is not possible it seems.

So, if people had to pick between Nani and Cerci, who would they take? (I know Cerci plays more offensively but there's no way we'd play him next to Llorente/Tevez, so shut up).

Nani only if he can prove his fitness

I'd much rather Cerci than a Nani who's only good for 15-20 games per season, half of which would involve him trying to get back to match fitness

It's too risky changing to a new formation if our star winger is always injured, we'd end up needing a top quality 2nd choice Winger which obviously isn't possible for numerous reasons.
