They would obviously not announce the budget but they are making sure fans dont expect sanchez di maria , its made clear every single time that they wont spend big . Infact marotta even said we will spend big next summer so its clear .
And yes lulic and peryra offer more in attack than asa and licht in a 3-5-2 .
Thats the point since we are not a selling club we wont sell thus we wont make big purchases either .
Very few are expecting Di Maria, he's 40m player and not realistic acquisition in any way. Sanchez on the other hand we might pull off in some kind of deal, loan+obligation to buy, 25-30m. If he's willing to come, of course. By the latest reports he seems to be, but too early to tell.

And no I've seen both, and wasn't convinced by their attacking aptness.

I would be more than happy if we could get sanchez but spending 25-30m on a single player is not looking realistic this summer . Nani 10-12m , cerci (immobile + 7-8m) , menez (free) , lulic (10) , peryra(8) types are looking attainable .

I'm not surprised.

Like I said too many times, last time we spent big was for Diego/Melo/Amauri. After that we had lower transfers fees and our policy is not likely to change. We signed Barzagli, Pirlo, Pogba, Vidal, Tevez and Llorente for peanuts. They all became our key players and we're not gonna change our policy until we do some good in Europe.

Unless we sell (Pogba) we're not gonna spend big on one player for sure IMO. And that is why we'll aim at Lulic, Pereyra, Nani, Menez, Ranocchia/Paletta, Cerci (possibly) and eventually some rough talented kid out of nowhere.

In fact, if we sign a 25mln player without selling Pogba I'm gonna be very surprised.
Add striker to that list, and we have a great mercato.

P.S. Pereyra can also play as a winger :D

Avatar bet that we wont sign anyone for 25 mil or higher ?
I'm tempted, but there are too many variables. We could be close to signing someone like Sanchez for that sum only for a deal to fall through for some ridiculous reason.

Avatar bet for the overall spending?

tevez would be a horrible winger, totally fucking up the formation
Tevez wont be on the wing and yes we would need a Lb .

The thing is more than the budget its the formation change that is uncertain and rumoured , so its difficult to even know what path is the club going to take and make signings accordingly . Media keeps reporting that conte wants to change to a 4-3-3 but whenever he has been asked he says we play like this for 3 years now so we are comfortable with it .
so it's safe to say that tevez will play in a 352 and Nani in a 433 but will never play together?

We will make the right moves and Marotta's words are not to be taken literally. It would be foolish if he went to the media to publicly announce our budget. Every player out there would be 20-30% more expensive.

Someone said Lulić for the wing, yeah right, he'd be no better than Asamoh or Licht. If we're gonna change to 4-3-3, than we need proper wingers for those spots.

Again people keep on insisting that we need to sell to afford our purchases, which simply isn't true of we go by the numbers from previous couple of years.

The fact is that in previous few years we needed to fill the gaps and thus most of mediocrity was brought. This summer we can afford 25m player and couple of bargain deals.
Yes.

If you pay 25M for a player in 5 installments (which is perfectly normal), it's 5M + salary in the budget. Obviously the club can afford it. Next summer a lot of installments from signings of 3/4 years ago will be finished (Bonucci, Pepe, Quagliarella, Vucinic, Licht, etc).

But I agree that the club's plan is to go smooth once more this summer, only to really spend some serious amount in 2015 summer (raise in sponsorship, new adidas deal, TV deal, finish of installments for lots of players).

However I'm sure Conte will demand some serious signings of the players he wants, so the club might just spend a considerable amount this summer to keep him happy and spend a bit less next year.

This would probably be a good solution. This team needs to be renewed. If we keep the same players and 352, I doubt we'd even win Scudetto. It's the end of its cycle. It's waaaay too predictable now.

So I do believe there's a real chance club will spend higher this summer due to Conte's demands.

Considering the money is guaranteed next season, surely we could spend some of it this season considering we KNOW for a fact it's coming in.
An individual can do that , but an organisation cant , it needs to balance its books of account if you spend more than your income it is a loss in your accounting statement , maybe we are already at a loss i havent seen the statement but with ffp coming into play its unlikely we would take that route .

I think we agree on the overall spending somewhat

Depends on who the opposite winger is. Tevez could play center forward if both wingers arent primerly crossers

No, you cant do that. Doesnt compute, financially ;)

so we bench llorente then? Don't see that happening unless he is injured or risks a suspension in an important game.

(or sold for Dzeko)

Fair enough, but I was thinking along the lines of a loan from Exor or something, not sure if that would make a difference as far as the financial records went though.
Yeah thats possible real madrid gets loan from caja madrid bank , they have some 500m in debt but in annual meeting they declared only net 80m owed to the bank, they have to pay administration , suppliers , players etc , havent even included bale's fees this year . Same thing with barca operating under losses. We made loss of 16m last year and our debt on 30th june 2013 was 160m .

Let's say for fun and games :)D) that we do end up signing Nani & Sanchez. How do we make it work in either formation?

Buffon
Licht-Barzagli-Chiellini-Kolarov
Vidal-Pogba
Nani-Tevez-Sanchez
Lllorente
