Maybe we could somehow do a direct deal of Marchisio plus cash for Rooney. Rooney is a fighter, I would love to have him here. I think even Marchisio plus 20 million would be fair but I would hope for 15 million. Manchester would prob give him up for that much.

Rooney no way, Over rated fat unprofessional scumbag. He peaked years ago, he has been mediocre this season nothing great. His wages are 300k euro a week no way we could come anywhere close to him. Much better talent out there than him. Muriel would be a much better investment if we can't land a top striker this season he could be a good alternate.
Umm? Wayne Rooney?

The same guy who is 27 years old in an age where players can easily play till 36, has scored about 200 goals for Manchester United and accepted to play in midfield when asked for a good part of the season?

He does have a high salary for certain but he might be willing to accept a bit lower wages to get out of Manchester after he handed in his second transfer request. I think he knows not many teams would pay him that much.. I think we could get him if we offered 2/3 what he makes now. But honestly if Manchester United and Sir Alex think he was worth offering that much money to he is probably worth it. Also he is a massively marketable player so I am sure we can recoup some of that. I think if Sir Alex, Wenger and Mourinho rate him he is prob worthy.

Asamiah. But the problem would be that we will not have a back up for Asamoah unless we try and keep Marrone. I forgot about Pogba but he's more like Pirlo's back up, no?
Pogba bumped Marchisio from his midfield position towards the end of the year. So if anything you could say Pogba is the starter and Marchisio is his back up now. Or he will be very soon. Both Pogba and Asamoah though could replace him without losing any of our midfield quality (maybe we would even gain.. hard to say)

Sell Marchisio and Vucinic to generate some cash. Keep Marrone as back up. Sell Matri for 6-7-8 M whatever. Sign Higuain for 25M, Tevez for 12M, Nani for 10M and Ogbonna for 15M value including players in exchange.

Buffon

Licht - Barzagli - Bonucci - Chiellini

Vidal - Pirlo - Asamoah

Nani - Higuain - Tevez

Plus we have Llorente, Giovinco, Quag, Pogba, Marrone, Peluso, Caceres, Pepe, Ogbonna.
With this group of players we can easily play and adjust to two-three different formations.

We would be fools if we rely on Marchisio as a starter and Pogba on the bench for next season. Pogba has to start and not in a few 3-6-1

The fact we can lose a top midfielder like Marchisio and replace him with 2 equally good players in Pogba and Asamoah makes it obvious we can afford to lose him if it means bringing in an elite attacking option.. we dont have 2 players like rooney sitting on the bench to step in for our non existent starting rooney caliber players. We have no Rooneys and this situation must be addressed haha.

So I am with JCK .. if we sell we must buy an Elite player like Rooney, Cavani, Zlatan, Lewandowski .. too bad we did not go all out and sign Falcao with our whole summer transfer budget. That would have been gold.

Yeah. I think it is certain if we sold Marchisio, Pogba would be the starter. Asamoah would stay as in his Left sided position but would be the main replacement for any of the 3 CM starters. Giaccherini, Morrone and Padoin too can get playing time if need be.

Conte really rates Pogba

In the Marchisio situation, I expect Pogba to develop into a better player. And also in a potential sale of Marchisio, Asamoah would go back to being the quality CM that he has always been with Udinese.

It would just hurt to lose Marchisio cuz of his connection with Juve so I think thats the only reason people would resist but objectively it is the most logical thing to do and thats the way we should look at it. The only thing that matters and people should ask is "Does it make Juventus better?"
