I like Subotic and Marquinhos, while also Howdes is tempting. I don't think any of those three would be a bad pick to replace him while we'd have extra cash.

I'm not sure myself I'd ever consider selling him, but some crazy offer might as well change that. Current Barzagli is just as good as Chiellini, not anyone expected that when we bought him.
Those are good defenders that won't replace a top level defender, and I think finding extra cash can be done without being so harmful to the squad.

Difficult to manage a situation where a defender is purchased for €300k and performs at the level of Barzagli.

Not necessarily but probably yes. Why take the risk and destroy one of the best defense in Europe? The new player will take some time to accommodate whereas we are trying only to improve and be real serious competitors in Europe. By selling Chiellini we are taking a step back.
Exactly, and I think it doesn't take a lot to shaken our defense, which is why it's good we're looking to add another player.

If we get offers like this for pur players, we should consider selling. We have good replacements.

Chiellini - 40m euro
Bonucci 20m
Marchisio 30m
Vidal 55-60m
Vucinic - 15m
Giovinco - 12m

;) and yes i love them all, but we dont seem to get alot of cash from investors and owners...

Never underestimate the benefits of having strong depth.

And once again, Juve don't need cash.

For Bonucci I would accept 15M just to return investment.
40M for Chiellini if true is something to consider regardless of his loyalty and personal affections.
You can't be serious ?! He ain't Chiellini,but i wouldn't sell him nothing under 25 mln E .

Chiellini not for sale :))

Chiellini is great, but rejecting a 40mln offer is probably just wrong.

Yeah I agree. I love Chiellini but we could be drastically better if we added 40 million to what we already have to spend. Also I remember Caceras did fantastically well when he filled in for Chiellini last year (hope he can stay fit). Plus if we are getting Ogbonna he would be a direct replacement as LCB.

I would hate to see Chiellini or Marchisio for that matter go but for the money being mentioned it is definitely worth it. We have a direct replacement for Marchisio in Pogba (and Asamoah) and can get one for Chiellini by bringing Ogbonna or if Caceras can stay fit. I trust Conte can have Ogbonna playing at a high level.

70 million for Marchisio and Chiellini plus whatever money we have to spend already and we could buy a lot of world class talent and make our team much much better.

We could buy players like Lewandowski, Robben, Sanchez, Jovetic ..

I would agree to that if Juve gives me 1% of the sum.

Honestly, Not selling Chiellini for 40 million would be stupid.

Thats the same amount we paid for Nedved and around the price paid for Aguero, Cesc, Villa
It's 1/3 the price of the Juventus Stadium lol.

People don't look at things objectively and fall in love with players. The only player in our team I can't see us replacing easily is Vidal. If we get crazy bids for other players we should take them regardless of if fans feel like they have gotten to know them. We might not need to sell but we have not been able to make our team competitive in attack so if stupid clubs like Monaco offer crazy money it would be kinda dumb not to accept.

"drastically better" is a drastic miscalculation. I think it's pretty laughable to think Cáceres or Ogbonna could replace one of the best defenders in the world to begin with (going to mention @Klin here), just looking at both player's records against top level opposition and comparing it to Chiellini's career up to this point should be enough. Ogbonna has barely played against any top teams as a 25 year old and has had a struggle in his first season in Serie A, while Cáceres has been a decent backup player that has stepped into centre back against a few middle table teams and done fine, certainly not done anything close to "fantastically well" in that spot.

I'm fucking staggered by this as a serious suggestion

Erm, do you not see you are breaking up one extremely solid area to strengthen another, not to mention it being a very influential leader and top class player? So how would this 'drastically improve' the team, exactly?

Add to all this the fact that most likely Marotta sucks at finding high profile replacements. We do not have to weaken our strongest department when we know that our incompetent GM can not sign well established, high profile stars. No need to further complicate his job.

What's the obsession with big stars? Give me good players.
