I know this sounds almost ridiculous but a part of me thinks we played a better brand of our own game last year compared to this year, last season we looked utterly relentless, always pressing, always fast and mobile, out attackers always breaking forward and pressuring the opponents. I fell that this year we lacked that commitment, drive, resolve, urgency and grinta in comparison to the 2011/12 season.
but... we achieved moar points and progress to CL QF! :shifty:

The football in 11/12 was more fun and exciting and was driven by the desire and enthusiasm of a bunch of players who hadn't won anything.

The football in 12/13 was more controlled, more effective, more mature, which was how it had to be because you were never likely to be able to reproduce the enthusiam of the previous year.

forget about van Ginkel, he is chelsea bound...

20M + player... i can see us getting Jovetic for that ammount (20M + Quag?)
we won't spend 20M on Tevez, and we don't have a player Man City wants (except for players we don't want to lose)
Higuain would cost us more than 20M and just like City, Real are only interested in players we don't want to lose

IF we get another striker after Llorente, i think it will be Jovetic

Fair enough, but we lost 5 matches in the league (Inter, AC Milan, Roma and Samp x2 iirc) we lost the Coppa quarter final vs Lazio, and we lost both legs of the CL to Bayern. Plus, given Conte's stubborn lack of rotations, there are games we looked tired and run off our feet (Like losing to a 10 man Samp ffs). The only games we played where I feel we matched or bettered ourselves from last year's performance would have been our games against Chelsea (both legs), Roma (our first win) and Pescara (the 6 or 7 goal drubbing we handed them).
