Wingbacks that can cross, are defensively shit compared to asamoah, cannot have both.

Our wing backs are there to lock the opponent wings. they are pretty awesome at it
Adriano Correia is not shit defensively and neither is Coentrão.

I wonder how we'll do with Llorente and potentially Higuain up front without players who can cross.

Anyone else think this could be Licht's last season with us?

I could see him being sold.
I really don't want that, but it's possible. I read some serious news about his possible leaving and last year he almost was sold. He don't have big wage here, you know...

But if we replace him with Piszczek it would be okay.

I can see Marotta/Conte wanting to cash in him while he's still valuable, and allow a RWB (like Isla) or sign a new RWB that is more productive offensively.

Higuain prefers to pounce on trough balls, pirlo'esque long balls, flick ons, and quick pass exchanges. doesnt neccecarely needs crosses.
Llorente can be a targetman for passes into feet, or long balls.

Thing is, our cm's usually help out the wingback. they can trow it in the box if neccecary.

And i can tell you, Both Higuain and Llorente are a crapload better at positionning if licht/isla or asamoah/peluso give a low cut-back cross from the backline.

When countering, instead of going down the wing, you could send it straight to Llorente, who nods it in the path of Higuain

In:
Higuain - 20M
Llorente - 0M
Peluso - 5M
Asamoah's half - 9M.
Berardi - 3M
Poli's half - 4M

Out:
Matri and Quags - 12-15M
Padoin - 2M
Melo and Ziegler - 5M

Renew Isla's co-own.

Net spend: something around 25M

:tuttosport:
Pretty anti-climatic end to the mercato, if you believe what we can potentially achieve this preseason. I can see one of Jojo/Ibra/Nani/Robben in addition to your incoming list. And you forgot Diamanti who will in all likelihood come here in return for a co-own or outright ownership of Gabbiadini/Sorenson.

Good FM move, but he'll probably never be able to sign a valuable free agent again.
I wonder how free agents can protect their interests against these ings happening. Especially the high profile ones. Pretty sure they'll have a contract clause vetoing any such move.

Jojo and Ibra IN.
Matri, Anelka, Bendtner , Iaquinta and one of Giovinco/Vujinic OUT

Ibra, Jojo, LLorente, Vuc/Gio

If Quags wants to stay he is welcome of course.
Would be great if we retained someone like Quag in addition to the bigger stars.

Asamoah is a very talented player and can cut it when being played out of position, but it's very hard to not notice and understand that the key to unlocking his enormous potential lies in the middle of the formation we play.

I could see us use Asamoah there another season if we go 352, but I'd be a lot more cynical if he is to be our Lb in a 433. It all depends on how we've prioritized the mercato. It's not the first position I would change in the formation, but if there's money left after the big changes upfront, then yes, I'd move for an LwB. Not a fan of Peluso either. I hope we get someone like Lulic or Adriano.

I could see him being sold.
As much as Id hate that, I wouldnt put out of the realms of possibility. But again, it all depends on what kind of money we need in the mercato which is invariably linked to who we are targeting.

All of the talk I see about us acquiring Llorente + Higuain + Jovetic/Ibra/whoever... this is crazy talk. You folks have done lost your minds in your enthusiasm ( :p ), we are not going to be bringing in 3 new, class forwards. We've been trying to get 1 for years, now we're getting 3? No.

And all the folks creating these player exchange deals, where we have 2-4 moving parts going the other way... including players we don't even fully own... when was the last time we worked a transaction where we acquired a player by sending multiple players + cash in the other direction? This is basically more crazy. :D

We'll see how the market shapes up, there does seem to be more supply than there has been during certain years, but I think some of the prices thrown around here are also extremely optimistic.

Anyway... wish on, my Juve brethren.

When is the last time multiple players were involved in any 'swap' deal? Particularly senior players as has been spoken about with Juve.

Only deals I can recall that involved various player moving just involved kids.

Roma included a couple to get Destro and I think Inter sent a bunch (including Destro, I think) the other way when they were signing Milito and Motta.

Exactly Red, some of these swap deals I've seen here are more complicated than the trades you'd see in North American professional sports. The Inter/Genoa dealings were very strange, I do remember that at the time.

When we've done these part exchanges, it's done to sweeten the relationship, and has basically always been accounted for as two separate transactions - I'm thinking Nocerino/Amauri, or Zanetti/Melo situations... although I guess Marco blackhole Marchionni also moved to Florence around that time. Did I just answer my own question? Damn.

:p
