I don't think we will get good money out of the players we are trying to sell. We'd have to pay 5m for Peluso + 18m for Isla and Asamoah... I am sure we can't get that back from sales and moreover I'd argue that Asamoah's value is similar to the 18m we've paid, but Isla's ... :sergio: Therefore we are already chasing 10m down the drain.

I hate to be that guy, but if we're going to keep on playing a 3-5-2 we need two new wingbacks, one on each side. Lichty is a WC right back, not a winger.
We know it's impossible. I mean to get an upgrade over Asamoah or especially Licht - it would cost fortune and we won't spend that much anytime soon.

Besides that ss spot we can't upgrade our 3-5-2 significantly. What we should do is improve our squad to be able to play 4-3-3 too. We lost Pepe and Conte says we can't play 4-3-3 without him which means we need hardworking RWF who'd be an upgrade over Pepe offensively too. Sanchez is my favourite for this position, he can play on both wings in 4-3-3 and ss in 3-5-2. He always works hard and he's very good going past defenders which we need a lot. He's a good assist man also.
Then during the next season Conte may choose which one he prefers to play. I believe we'd use 4-3-3 much more if we had players that suit this formation. Right now we lack CF and RWF which is a lot. With Llorente coming and maybe Sanchez we could use both formations without limits.

As for other positions I think we're packed really well. We could get a decent well built CB maybe and that's it. For LWB position we have 3 players already it's enough. I don't see any point in looking for vice - Pirlo because we have no founds to buy such a player. Pogba can fill his position quite well and Marrone should be given more chances in midfield too.

4-3-3:

Buffon/Storari
Licht/Caceres/Padoin - Barzagli/Bonucci - Chiellini/Bonucci - Peluso/Chiellini/DC
Vidal/Isla/Pogba - Pirlo/Pogba/Marrone - Marchisio/Asamoah/Giacch
Sanchez/Pepe - Llorente/Quag - Vucinic/Giovinco

3-5-2:

Buffon/Storari
Barzagli/Caceres - Bonucci/Marrone - Chiellini/Caceres
Licht/Isla/Padoin - Vidal/Pogba - Pirlo/Pogba/Marrone - Marchisio/Asamoah/Giacch - Asamoah/Peluso/DC
Llorente/Quag - Vucinic/Sanchez/Gio

I'm getting a feeling, we may go for Nani more than an SS if Conte is serious about the 433 next season. Although, he himself has clarified that the 352 is the most attacking position we have. I tend to disagree there as I feel it's a better formation when you want to adapt your game to the opposition but severely lacks the intensity and control of the 433 which is a much more direct and compact approach when taking the game to the opposition.

Not really based on anything I guess?

I like the 3 5 2, but i reckon most teams need to mix it up after a while if they want to continue to improve. Especially as i dont see any significant players available, who would upgrade the team. Apart fromt that forward. I think our team would potentially benefit from an added threat and outlet around the 16, albeit someone opposite to vucinic or someone behind him ala hernanes.

There are different types of control with these formations. I see what you are saying, that with the 4-3-3 we look like we are more directly taking charge of how the game is played, the fast tempo. But with it is more risk, so less control in that respect.

With 3-5-2 we are more reactive than proactive against bigger teams, but we also control the play built from the back and with more solidity.

I think all of them are available if the price is right.
