Explain yourself. I'm not into 2nd options but added them anyway. IMO all of the 1st choice players would raise the bar at Juves frontline
Who's Henrikh Mkhitaryan?

I know that he is an Armenian football midfielder, who currently plays for Ukrainian Premier League club Shakhtar Donetsk.

What I mean with this question is why do you consider him a improvement, I've never seen him play, not that I remember :shifty:

First of all he's a juve fan. Second he's one of the main factors to shakhtars success - of of two we feared when playing them last year. He's easily valued at 20m € but that's way too much though.. A player that can become what vucinic is in the future.. Perhaps..

you really think Juve are going to spend 20 mill on an armenian player who plays for a team that practically dominates the ukrainian league?

only way we'd spend that kind of money is for someone who already plays in Serie A or a more established league at least.

besides i don't see how being a Juve fan should be a factor to sign a player, doesn't mean he will play better or is necessarily a better player than that of a non-Juve fan. Fact is footballers are professionals and they are paid to do a job, it has never stopped players like candreva (a roma fan) to play well for lazio

Isn't he more of an attacking midfielder?

You do know Matri has 26 goals in 60 matches for Juve. That's almost 1 every second game. For the 15.5 million he cost us, that's a decent return. He was absolutely crucial against Celtic yesterday, and against AC Milan last year in the tie that allowed us to get back into the scudetto race. And when he starts regularly his form is generally quite good. In his 11 starts this season he has 7 goals and 2 assists. Last season with 23 starts he had 10 goals and 4 assists. His first half season at Juve in 15 starts he had 9 goals and 1 assist. For some reason he's generally poor when coming on as a sub, I think he, more so than many strikers, needs to be starting regularly and playing a lot of minutes to find his form. I think only 2 of his goals last season came during games he was subb'd on late, Milan being one (and same this year with Cagliari being his 2 goals when he came on for 30'). But if you look at only his starts and his stats in those matches, he has 22 goals and 7 assists in 49 starts (and including subb'd performances it is 26 and 7 in 60). That's pretty damn good for 15 mil in my opinion.

So... why on earth would we sell him to bring an unproven Boakye in? He's only played in Serie B. I'd say keep him and Llorente, and bring in one of Gabbiadini or Immobile, keep Boakye out on loan to get one more season experience hopefully in Serie A this time. Sell Quags, send Bendtner and Anelka back. Iaquinta will be off the books. So bring in another decent/good SS like Jojo. That way we have 3 CFs and 3 SS in the first squad.
Well... I can't contest your statistics. But I just wanna remind you that his overall price was 18M and not 15M (including loan price). And yes, his numbers are decent, but that's all. 18M, or even 15M, is a shitload of money his numbers are OK.

But I'm talking about what I see everytime he plays. Football is so much more than numbers. Most times he misses almost everything he tries. He lacks selftrust sometimes, is not a reliable player. To me, he is just not Juve material. He could fit well in Napoli or Lazio though.

And if he leaves, a really good striker should be bought. Boakye would come to be our 5th option, at the beginning at least. But it could be Gabbiadini or Immobile. I just see more potential in Boakye, considering the 3 of them.

You know it's not just about who we want, the player has to want us as well, because there will be plenty of clubs who can match what we can offer monetary-wise.

I hope to see we sell our dead wood like Padoin and Pepe. I would like to see Obiang come in for us. He was immense when Samp beat us at home this season.
Maybe we will make a move for Nani as well.

We need that deadwood, even if we sell it we are only going to buy more deadwood as these mediocre players are needed to build a team. Pepe, Giach and Padion etc happen to actually be good deadwood. These guys are prepared to sit on the bench for most of the season on low wages and be ready to come in and give it their all whenever they are needed. It is hard to find decent enough players who are willing to do that on low wages. Not to mention the impact someone like Pepe has in the dressing room.

IMO we are well packed in every department even for 2013/2014 season. I hope we wont go for more depth players in the summer and that we spend all of our transfer budget on one player: Suarez.

That deadwood was the reason for our 2nd and 3rd goals against Celtic on Tuesday

Yes, Padoin is a deadwood :sergio: :sergoi:

In my opinion we should sign Suarez whatever the cost.. he's the one missing part and we'd be unstoppable with him tearing it apart up front..

Nor would it make it easy for Juventus to sign Icardi if he was interista.. Point is that you always see Marchisio step up in important and vital games because he will sacrifice more then expected for the club due to his direction of heart... But otherwise yes, a professional is a professional.. It's only a plus, for contract talk and transfer as well...

But no. I don't think we'd spend 20m € on him. I dont think we'll sign him at all. He's and interesting player and he doesn't cost 35m € like Willian did.. IMO we shouldnt sign him - but we'll be linked with him in the media for sure...

I thought I had played against us. But didn't noticed him.
Nah. Poor performance against Juve - but as always we respected him and didnt offer him much space...

Isn't he more of an attacking midfielder?
Can't say. He scored 20 goals for Shakhtar this season so for all i know you can call him a defender if it pleases you :matri:

40 million for Suarez

Yes, I know we need to break even, but what if we reach the CL Semis?! We need to make an impact signing to stay at the top, especially if we go far in the CL and retain our Scudetto ;)
