Since he realised that anyone who can understand Italian can be a 'guru'.

Agreed.

It was Delneri's 4-4-2 at Samp in his really good season, playing up front with Cassano.

Their attacking play was largely based on crosses, though, which is what Pazzini really needs to thrive.

Juve, playing 3-5-2, will get into a lot of good crossing positions.

Juve paid about 17m for Matri. That was in January and a bit of a panic buy, so that was probably a bit more than he was worth. Since then he has done well enough to show that he can play at a good level, so he's probably worth about 15m, I'd say.

Pazzini went to Inter for about 19m. That was probably a few million more than what he was worth. He made a fast start, but then struggled badly, so I would think his value would have dropped a bit, particularly with Inter having made it clear they want to sell him. I value him at about 12m just now.

All very much open to debate, though.
Pazzini excel at Samp under Del Neri and also do Matri in season half under Del Neri.. Matri is thought not suited Conte style of play,, anybody think Pazzini can excel under Conte? I would pick Matri if i must choose between the 2.. Matri is a big game player, he has the right mentality.. At least i still has confidence he can rediscover his form,,

Even Ibra has a bad half season for us in 05/06 when he can't score for so many games,, So I believe Matri also just underperformed for end of the last season

I am not being biased here but the italian teams do very badly in the europa league but! we do far better then german teams in the champions league. The fair resolution should be give serie a the 4th spot back and give the bundesliga an extra europa league spot they seem to do better in the b grade competition. The co-efficients are completely the most stupid rating system ever . How the hell can Europa teams like paok, atletico madrid, lazio etc get the same points for a win over b grade european sides like random sides from ukraine and ireland. So youre trying to tell me when ac milan beat arsenal last season a match played out between say dortmund beating a random irish team in the europa league deserves the same points playing in a far weaker competition?.

That's the way the cookie crumbles; the system isn't going to change. Italian teams should just man up, play like they care, and stop $#@!ing complaining.
literally this is how insane it is italian teams should purposely lose in the cl then play in the europa league to get the co-efficients back. Whats more important the money or the co-efficients because less spots in the champions leagues gonna mean less money down the track

im just saying instead of just accepting circumstances and rules made by a bunch of blokes to improve the image of the B grade( thats what it really is) european competition and punishing teams for doing well to get past the group stages and getting knocked out and rewarding teams for winning b grade european matches we shouldn't just accept that. This is where I differ in opinion from a lot of people. We should question this insanity not just accept it . Ill give you a real life example when mc'donalds pay their staff what ever it is say 20 dollars australian an hour and they do all the hard work clean all the dishes, clean the toilets all the work no 1 really wants to do the company could probably still pay them say 100 dollars an hour and improve everyones life and still make a healthy profit but they don't. you know why? cause were all their slaves and people just accept it without questioning it and this is how in my opinion the world will get fkd up eventually no 1 questioning insanity because its not the "normal" response.

Matri may not be wc but he is way underated here! People here are making him sound like he is crap while he is quite a good player
Always turns up in big games, scores vital goals, has good movement/deceptive pace, never complains, the model professional. Wasn't his fault he suffered badly in the 2nd half of the season because Conte kept choosing fucking Herpiello over him.

Matri non si tocca!

He's also not as great as some diehard supporters claim he is. It's not as if there aren't a lot of strikers like Matri out there; he's a good striker, but nothing about what he does is spectacular or great that renders him indispensable or untouchable FFS!

Your point being? I'm not calling him shit FFS, but some of you think he's the best thing since the invention of the automobile, or as good as Trez or Batistuta with the way you are praising him FFS!

My main problem with Matri is his first touch, how many times last season did we see him try to control the ball and it just bounced off him? Countless times.
