does it matter? goals a goal no? during play or a set piece are you really going to complain how it happened?

on another not post 1000 :weee:
Actually it does matter, since in Juve Pirlo is taking all set pieces and to be honest, it's easier to score goals by PKs or assist by free kicks than with the ball in movement.

Have to be careful because these cold numbers lead people to overrate this guy. Now that I know that Jovetic's fee is 30M... I'd be much happier if Inter backed Parma in a blind auction and payed 8/9M for him. Then we just pay the 30M for Jojo and that's it...

I'll take it as a compliment. =)

Few minutes ago, Di Marzio said something about Leo Bonatini and us. ..
Hey, I've got info on this kid. Brazilian media is releasing some stuff on him.

First of all, Cruzeiro is a big club here which develops a lot of talents (Ronaldo Fenomeno, Maicon and others). This kid Leo Bonatini is 18yrs old and one of the best players of its youth ranks. Probably the most famous player right now. Because of the surname, I assume he has an Italian passport.

Manchester City made a proposal which was refused by Cruzeiro some time ago.

Now, he's approaching the end of his contract (March 2013) and Juventus has officially made a proposal. They presented him a development project - he will start in the youth rankings - and according to his manager it's almost a done deal.

Cruzeiro has to accept it because Juve's proposal was very good and couldn't be matched by the club. So the manager refused to renewal the contract.

Consequently, they'll have to settle losing him for a small fee than for nothing next year. And Juve by paying surely less than 1M (I'd say something like 0.5M) gets hold of the player.

Seem very good business to me... now I have the feeling Juventus is being run by serious people, with scouts all around the place trying to secure the future. Good job... probably one more promising youngster ir to arrive. =)

Cruzeiro hasn't officially accepted it yet, but they are very keen to it, since the kid is already training apart from the other players just to keep in shape.

Really handy having a Brazilian scout on the forum. :D

I am, it starts in 40 min.

BOCA FROM ALL MY HEART!!!! Fuck Corinthians, hehe. The most hated club in Brazil nowadays.

These are 2 very well trained teams, but without great individuals. Collectively they are pretty strong. A lot of marking, tight defenses, quick movement of the ball. It's probably going to be very equal and maybe even ugly.

From Boca there are only 2 players that could be interesting: Facundo Roncaglia, traditional RB. Young, very good marking, decent offense.
Also there is Sanchez Miño, a left footed youngster to whom Juve has already been linked. He's probably be in the bench. Good player, playing as a LWB or CM playing left side.

From Corinthians... not much.. in the midfield Paulinho, Inter Milan target, who is a dynamic, young and agressive defensive midfielder; and Castan, a good CB. On the bench, Romarinho, a new promising striker in Brazil.

I've watched a couple of Boca games (their home ties in the QF and SF), but haven't seen Corinthians.

You don't consider Riquelme a great individual?

Looking forward to it, even if it is 1.50am it starts here.

He is, but IMO a bit overrated by Brazilians who are terrified about him. But he's already 34, very poor movement off the ball... very dangerous in set pieces, though.

But I was talking about potential players to be bought by European clubs. There's also Mouche, who will probably end up in Italian football, but I don't really rate him very well.

I love watching him.

It's like a throwback to a different era seeing a player so slow and with absolutely no inclination to help out defensively. :D

Fair enough.

I don't tend to think about South American football that way when I watch it, partly becaue I'd like to see more talents stay in South America for longer and improve the standard of the football.

Can't say Mouche has impressed me much. He seems terribly wasteful.

Actually right now all good offensive talents are in Brazil. Clubs are in a much stronger economic position, able to maintain their youngsters, who can make a lot of money here. Also, western europe is in a fucking huge crisis, so clubs (a few apart) don't have money to spend. And Brazilian players are tired of going to Eastern Europe where there's some cash but they want to come back 1 year later. They aren't professional.

In Argentina, I'd say Paulo Dybala and Ocampos from River have a fair chance of becoming WC level. Juve should look for those guys.
