Spartak Moscow are in Italy to meet with Juve over signing Krasic, Melo and Elia! However Galatasaray are still interested in signing Melo on a permanent deal. Juve are looking to collect a minimum of 25 million euro from the sale of these 3 players, so that they can go for a top player ala Van Persie..

25 million for the three outcasts, we should definitely accept. However, getting all three of those players to accept the move would be impossible I think

You guys really believe what Marrotta is saying? Common. Think about it. He's acting so quick on the transfer Market when the silly season hasn't even begun.its obvious he's going to be using all that official time to get us a big name. Clear as day. Agnelli said it, remember th LCD house thing he kept saying, Elkanns said. Marrotta will do what they want. And that is get a big player.

Krasic is worth 8-10, Melo around 10, and Elia 7, so 25 Million minimum sounds about right :)
I'd value Melo at 11, Krasic at 10 and Elia at 7.

Wouldn't be a bad idea.. get some early deals in, now start offloading players as quickly as possible and end up having a certain amount of money left and time to focus on a top player.

Let's hope that's Marotta's 'project'. :D

I figure that it's more likely to get around 20M for these guys... we would be very lucky if we could sell Elia right away. A loan with an option to buy seems more real.

Let's not forget we still have to sell Matri (around 10-12M) / Quags (5-7M), Ziegler (2-3M), Pazienza (1-2M), the guy who came from Atalanta (1-2M), Motta (1M), etc

We could total around 30/35M in sales.

So what you're saying is that whatever comment Marotta makes, take it that he means the opposite?

Last Summer he promised us a big signing and we didn't get one, this year he says there won't be a big name and there may very well be one coming. Makes more sense to set expectations low so as not to disappoint I suppose.

Keep one of Quag/Matri, I like them so much,I cant bare to have both of them gone at the same time,I think Matri will be the one leaving,if we get that top CF.
Krasic,Melo,Elia,Matri,Pazienza,Ziegler > out and get around 35-40 million hopefully..

Why would we sell Padoin for 1mln when we just bought him for 5?

I expect around 50mln if not more from the players you mentioned, though don't think we will sell all of them.

Our management seem to say a lot of things.

I remember Turk saying that the Galatasaray sporting director was acting smug saying he could get a better deal on Felipe Melo. I hope Marotta finds a better deal with Spartak.

Yeah, I think it was a harmless statement. He's looking for quality that will fit our team. We know:
-No prima donnas
-Player must fit into the work ethic of the club
-Player must be affordable

If we end up not signing that top player ,then Marotta would deserve a tight slap in his face for signing Isla and Asamoah.I have continously reiterated that this market is about prioritizing and priority is to greatly upgrade our attack.

I'm really anxious you know..We have spent close to 50m already ,and there could be a possibility that we might end up with a cheap option like Destro just to balance the books and with FFP kicking in.

Still hopeful though.

If we don't sign that top player, we will once again be toothless in attack, and will have absolutely zero impact in the CL. We might even end up losing our title, due to the inability to juggle between CL and Serie A, and the lack of a quality striker up front.

However, I'm sure the management are aware of this; at least I hope they are.

Am I the only one who thinks that european football is currently in a forward-slump?

Just went thru possible targets as well as forwards in the Euro squads. It was kinda disappointing to look at.

There are still quality players out there, and we should be targeting them. We need to show more ambition and be more vigorous/rigorous when targeting our top player; no one said it's going to be easy.

However, I do tend to agree with you that European football isn't just suffering from a forward slump, but an overall slump. In fact, football the world over is nowhere near the level it was 10-12 years ago.
