I strongly disagree, and i believe everyone who isn't an Azzurri or Juve fan would too.

and i'm also wondering, how come we didn't hear of such similar opinions when Pirlo was at Milan?

Xavi is the best and most consistent midfielder by a country mile in the past 5 years.
Pirlo was shit in his last couple of years with Milan due to injury and as he says lack of motivation before that he was again much better than Xavi especially when playing for the national team... Pirlo at the world cup in 2006 was :tuttosport: and anyone with half a footballing brain knows that not just Azzuri or Juve fans i actually never liked him untill he joined us but ive always respected his talent even when i hated him.

Xavi was a king at Euro 2008, arguably the best player in that tournament, he was amazing at WC 2010 as well.

Of course Pirlo too was majestic at the 2006 WC, no doubt about that, the period between 2004-2007 he was world class for Milan too, but Xavi has been more consistent and despite not being as complete a player as Pirlo is, he does what he's good at better. Xavi for me has been the best midfielder in the world for a while now.

BS excuse. His passing was wayward, and he was generally quite poor in those years, sure playing in a rather static team didnt help, but its still not a good enough excuse.
He wasn't at his best, that's true. However, the lack of movement played a massive part in that.

He still has had way more years at the top than Xavi.

Nice to see someone reasonable here.

Only because Xavi has never been in a poor team unlike Pirlo. Xavi has been blessed to be surrounded by such talent year after year in the national team and club team.

Man you have not seen the half of it. Last week some were seriously arguing that Cristiano Zanetti was a better passer than Xavi

In the past, there were claims that Del Piero was better than Pele :shifty: Paro better than Cesc, Palladino better than C.Ronaldo and so on and so forth :p
