but that was one time and only after we sold zidane with record breaking fee... compared to now we have spend what... 250 millions combined since 2008 and got less than 100m? but all in all I still agree though, that we have to actually try really hard to get guys like higuain/cavani! not the same amount for RVP though.

So.

What have I learned so far in the last few days about how our club should approach transfers?

Well...

A.) If they are short. Don't sign.
B.) If they look out muscled in a photograph, that means they are weak. Don't sign.
C.) If they have problems at their current club, even though they are the top 3 or 4 in the world. Don't sign.
D.) If they are Italian, look Italian, eat Italian, native Italian or a CM...don't sign.
E.) If they scored 81 goals in Holland, don't take them seriously because its a joke league. Don't sign.
F.) If your name is Edin Dzeko you obviously aren't Juve material because you "said no to the club before" even though it isn't true and had NOTHING to do with the EU rule. Don't sign.

Thanks GOD some of US don't work for this club in any capacity.
Indeed.

Any names linked for LWB ? It seems the Peluso rumor has been fizzing out and with the co-ownership needs to be resolved this week, i think Marotta will be focused on Giovinco for this week.

My wishlist -
LWB - Alvaro Pereira/Senad Lulic
CB - Zapata/Astori
CF - Dzeko
SS - Jovetic ( only if we are selling Gio)

Trying to be realistic

Buying players on our terms? :howler: Good luck with that. In order to purchase WC talent, you need to dish out the cash. Otherwise, let's hope we can unearth some gems in South America or Eastern Europe.

I really hope we can get Neymar next year :D

Yep we should just pay whatever exorbitant prices clubs demand just to get a rise out of a few fanboys on Internet forums.

Just like Secco. Remember the "world class" pair of Diego and Melo deals, we're we spanked €50M without even batting an eyelid. Now I am not saying RVP is on their level, but serious consideration has to be put into how much we spend on an injury prone, 29 year old from another league on the last year of his contract.

As I said, glad we've got competent people running the financial affairs of our club.

there are things that you just cannot rationally judge and world class stuffs prices is one of them, otherwise nobody, not even the likes of bill gates, will ever buy 50 million euro mansions, 100 million euro private jumbo jets or even 60 million euro (for a fucking) painting and such.

Is anyone else annoyed about the euros or is it just me? Italy have looked dangerous, led in both matches, played just as well as spain, took the game to croatia and because of the group we are in and the fact croatia play spain in the last round( who will probably field a 2nd string squad against croatia ) it is now looking like Italy will go out because of some(potential) gentlemens agreement between the 2 sides or because Spain want too rest their players. italy have looked like 1 of the best sides in the tournament and would threaten any side in the knock out stages. Then you see teams like Greece who have gotten lucky because of the group they have played in go through without playing that great football and will more and likely easily lose in the next round anyway :(
