lewandowski would be an upgrade for our frontline, but not worth the steep cost, because he's not the ideal player for our system on that position.

llorente would be far better, i dont care wether its januari or july, we should get him, sign a precontract or something, huge signing bonus etc

I think Lewandowski is a really good striker, but not exactly what we need. I have a feeling he isn't someone we can build our attack around, and his contribution here would be underwhelming; same with Damiao. Just call it a hunch.

I'd rather we got someone like Cavani or Falcao (impossible), so we should focus on trying to uncover the next Cavani/Falcao (kinda what we did with both Ibra and Trezeguet; when we got them they were promising, but nowhere near the finished article).
Who do you feel has that potential?

Not just Trez and Ibra. Zidane, Vieri, Inzaghi, Montero, Camoranesi, Zambrotta, Chiellini. We were not Real Madrid. We made some very big purchases but that was the exception. Even players like Davids and Cannavaro we got cheaply after they were having problems.

It's hard to say some guy that could have the potential of Cavani/Falcao/Ibrahimovic. Lukaku seemed to be the new Drogba but he hasn't showed anything on the las two seasons. Guidetti had an amazing season on Feyenord last year, so I'd give him a chance now that he's being wasted on ManCity. Luuk de Jong's last year was pretty amazing, 32 goals on 50 games at Twente. But I wouldn't dare to say that they're going to be the top strikers of the future.

Guys.. Robert is cup tied for CL. I see the possibility of luring him away with little competition in January but since Dormund too has advanced from the group stages I just dont think they'll sell him at any price - and why would we desperately sign a player we can't use for CL?

I rate Robert above many other possible strikers (incl Llorente) but I just dont think we should spend the 20-25m € on him in January!

Serie A champions Juventus are willing to offer 34-year-old Frank Lampard a way out of Chelsea in January with only seven months remaining of his Stamford Bridge contract.

This was in today's paper's in the UK. Would this be a good signing for us?
