Ogbonna would be a sweet deal. I rate him higher than Astori, Acerbi, etc.

Ogbonna would be great CB depth, and he could also play as a LB.

Defenders: Lichtsteiner, Caceres, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, Ogbonna, De Ceglie

That would great IMO.

I remember an SS who suffered a 'career-ending' leg injury...
You mean Del Piero?

Del Piero was so good that he could lose a lot with that injury and still be a very good player.

I don't think Rossi is good enough to be able to lose a lot with his injury and still be a top level player.

Ogbonna would be great CB depth
Ogbonna is likely tocost 15m+ if/when he leaves Torino.

Juve ain't going to pay that much for a back-up CB.

Pre injury del piero, was the best player in a world that had stars like zidane, baggio, ronaldo, maldini.... and the best player i ever saw stepping on the field

after his injury, he never reacher more then 60-70% of the potential.

Considering what a fantastic carreer he had afterwards, one can only imagine what would have happened without that goddamn injury.

I don't think Alex would've this brilliant career till 37 without the Injury.

He adapted his game so well to play without the pace he used to have. Ale had amazing technique, is incredibly smart.

He was never given the credit he deserves.

He was born with that mentality, it didnt just pop up while he was injured, everything remained, but he lost quite a bit of pace and agility, and the flair to use it.

I think he could have kept on dominating the game, and only much later beeing forced to adapt when pace and agility start to decay

But yeah, he was never given that credit. alot of people outside italy rate totti higher, stupid national team

Del Piero is a legend. There's no way that little shit Rossi comes anywhere near Del Piero; he's lucky enough to be breathing the same air, little guido fuck.
Make it "pre injury del piero" and you can replace rossi with messi or cr7 in that phrase.

Fucking chockers would be analy violated by 90ties italian defences. might wanna check some vids with a few dribbeling runs alex did against those.

Pre-Injury Ronaldo was the best thing I've ever seen. He came back from the injury with about 60% of his ability and was still the best player in the world. Don't forget he was competing against none other than Zidane.

before their injuries, zidane, del piero and ronaldo were class of their own, alex beeing the best of them.

after those injuries, i rate zidane the best, but i also consider him less good at real then he was at juve

but opinions differ offcourse

Na, I'd say pre injury Alex had more facets to his game than pre injury Ronaldo.
i remember those days, and this discuttion on training fields

half the players wore del piero's shirt

the rest had that special ronaldo shirt, with his image on the front, in yellow/greenish colours

Football was all about quality back then. You still had players with egos, but those egos were well warranted. You had guys like Figo, Rivaldo, Ronaldo Prime, Del Piero, Zidane, and a whole host of talented, quality individuals. Football was far more competitive, and players were generally better.

it should be noted though that there are better players in south america today than late 1990 - early 2000, especially those outside brazil and argentina... in fact today brazil and argentina lack talents.

I disagree. It its common for people to see the past (and especially their youth) through pink glasses, but the fact is that every generation is generally better than the previous one. I have no doubt that Medau or Ronaldo are better than Alex in his prime.

Who is Medau? :p

I humbly disagree. Football has lost its beauty and romanticism. It's like saying that Lebron is better than Jordan :howler:

Ronaldo and Messi are amazing talents no doubt. The fact that the gulf in class between them and everyone else is testament to their ability, but also a reminder that the overall general quality of the game has significantly declined.

Ronaldo Prime...was he in the Transformers movies?
:D

I'm really hoping that Otin, Bonatini, Boayke, and Immobile come through for us. Hopefully, one of them can become world class, and the other a solid quality performer. We won't have to worry about our attack for a long time if that scenario does indeed materialize/transpire :D
