Just read a Milan fan say the following - if Milan sell Ibra/Silva for 70M it would be very hard for Milan to buy a replacement. Every club will play hardball.

^ That is very true.

I think selling those two for 65M is the best thing that could happen to meelan this mercato.

If they invest a part of that money in the right players they could be better off. Similair to what happened to merda when they sold Zingaro and got Eto'o and Millito.
Not really. The big difference is Mourinho whose success has always been built around the team playing as a unit (the collective) while Ibra has been the absolute and only center of every team he succeeded at. Allegri's only title was because Ibra carried him all the way in Serie A and Inter collapsed that year.
If this deal is made...Whether Silva stays or not, I am very confident that Milan will really struggle regardless of who replaces him. Allegri is a bad tactician... having Ibra and low competition is what won him the single title the same way Inter relied on Ibra with Mancini against low competition.

Milan's mediocre squad with its mediocre coach had a chance to compete for the title in my opinion only because Ibra could carry the mediocre players like usual and all the coach had to do is to build the team around Ibra.

What possible replacements are there anyway? surely cassano, robinho and pato cannot carry the team at all given that they are all either bad or injured. If a forward will be bought then it will be one of our targets (Cavani, RVP, Dzeko, Tevez) any of which will take a huge chunk of money and will still be a step down from Ibra as a one man team. They all need service to survive compared to Ibra.

On the other hand there are no good defenders available. Their defense is already mediocre even without selling silva (him being the only good player back there). They will have to take risks on young guys with potential like Dede etc... and the best they can get with experience who is somewhat good is Bruno Alves (and is old). Abate, Accrebi, Bruno Alves, Antonini is a horrible back four.

Milan cannot sell Ibra that would be suicide.. I wont believe it and start fapping until i see it official.

isnt milan still a shitload in debt? Plus this 65 mil wont just be for buying a striker. They need to buy a world class striker and defender now. Which leads 25-30 mil per signing. There is no way they will sign players at a higher calibre than ibra and t.silva

@Hist that is very true. Allegri is a mediocre coach and Ibra carried him all the way. They'll be screwed if they lose him IMO.

I'm not saying that they wont spend at all..just saying a substantial portion of that money will be used to cover their debts..I see them spending 40m max tbh..

Any of Dzeko, RVP, Higuain, Tevez or Cavani will cost at least 30 mill. There are no buyable good defenders out there (regardless of price) they will get a cheap youngster and spend a 20-25 mill on midfield i think. OR they'll just keep the cash and just stick to a striker (which will cause total collapse)

let's not kid ourself man..we're in the same planet with the sheiks...anzi, city, psg, real, barca will have to pay like 40 mils for higuain or cavani...rvp, tevez and dzeko want out or last year of contract so their price would be around 25-30

Imagine they sign Modric and Maicon as well.

That would fill your missing gaps.
in the middfield missing gap i would actually put someone like sissoko ,with modric , pastore , motta there is very little running in middfield . Motta is useless in defense and both the other 2 don't offer quantity . If they get maicon on shape and get a good midfielder who has a lot of quantity they become on of the top 10 teams in the world

Agreed, the deal Inter got for Zlatan was out of this world really. A better striker + 40m is something Milan will not get here.

Pato/Cassano/Robinho/El Shaarawy is a risky front line to play around, yet it would still be a much better option to have that and build on the midfield and defense.

If that front line stays fit and healthy, Allegri could make a better 'team' out of Milan that is quite young.

milan not spending anything over 10 mil the next 3 years, whilst keeping zlatan and silva

is vastly superior to milan selling both, filling a part of depts, and spending the rest on roflpoke replacements

what milan should do, is what marotta did in his first year at juventus :

sell or terminate contract of every single player over 26 thats on a wage higher then 3mil and isnt a corner stone to the team.

since they got zlatan, they can field half a primavera and still put up a serious scudetto challenge to us

zlatan and silva are just 13 mil of a 160mil yearly wagebill. they must cut that under 120 mil, hence they should cut it under 100

That wagebill has already been cut significantly from last season's 160m due to the departure of Seedorf, Nesta, Gattuso, Inzaghi, etc..

that is true, but they still have a long way to go, and to much players on retarded contracts

especially compared to our superior players

    :tuttosport:

    That is an awesome squad!

Now how probable is it. :D

    I added a 3rd keeper...easy!

    a LB/LWB that will leave...probable

a forward considered a to player playing in Italy and would cost less than many other "top players"...:donedeal:

an Italian forward for the future...:marottaparaticistyle:
