I know. It's my selfishness shining through. Andy and I as well as a couple of others had mentioned this kid 3 years ago.

I feel he is going to be regarded as one of the top 5 CB's in the world by the end of next season.

:sigh:

Just wish that Juve had him, that's all.
Look at it this way, this season we had two of the top 10 CB's in the world playing in our colors. I'd love Hummels (or Subotic, i think he's just as good defensively, lacking in the play maker role that HUmmels like to take on) but now is just not the time to invest in a department where we're more than capable as it stands.

Di Marzio - Conte wants Hummels, but Marotta has said the rest of the budget will be allocated for the attack.
    :tuttosport:

yes Sergio, you and some others are not only ones that wanted this guy before.

btw, we could look at Höwedes too if he's cheaper.

Höwedes would be great too, the greek kid - Papas[greek ending of last name] from Schalke could be a very good option too. He's going to be a beast once he cuts out the brainfarts from his game.

I know. I'm more than happy with the first string CB pairing.

I just have this wish of one day seeing Hummels in the Juve kit

    Howedes, you say.

    Hmmmm.

Never crossed my mind, but I dont think that Schalke would let him go for cheap

    Papadopoulos :D

Kid only 20, and leads a backline like a vet. He's going to be something special if handle right.

I haven't been following these transfer threads very closely the last few weeks because of the Euro so can someone give me an update/recap on what's going on?

    1) Verratti - he's off the market? Wth...is there any chance we can still get him?
    2) Destro?
    3) Our CF position?
    4) Defenders?

Who have we signed so far?

    Giovinco - 11M
    Isla + Asamoah - 30M

    41M gone. Damn....

We still need a defender (Alves, Astori, Ogbonna), Verratti?, Destro? and a top attacker.

I guess Verratti and Destro will be put on standby while we look for a defender and a top attacker.

I'm so curious on what formation we'll primarily be using next season. I wonder how we'll incorporate Giovinco, Quag, Matri, Vucinic in the attack and keeping them all happy.

So no Verratti and Destro? They'd be great investments for the future...but I guess we have other pressing matters like a top-notch CF.

Fellas does anyone else agree that if we don't have enough money to sign a" world class" attacker this summer then we should spend 2 seasons worth of transfer money in 1 transfer market. So instead of spending 50 million each summer say we spend 100 million this summer and not sign anyone next season? Would be good if their was a loophole in financial fair play im sure we could get around it. This would mean how ever if we have signed asamoah and isla all of our non eu spots might have allready been taken up which might mean we possibly cant get higuain or cavani( not sure of their european passports). im proposing we should get bruno alves or hummels for the cb spot, a "good enough" left wing back and a world class finisher, we might be fine for the second striker as we have giovinco and vucinic. if we can get jovetic for second striker then im all for selling giovinco and/or vucinic to get him

so theoretically our line up would be

    buffon
    barzagli
    hummels
    chiellini
    isla
    vidal
    pirlo
    marchisio
    asamoah/left wing back
    jovetic or suarez and giovinco,vucinic
    top striker :tuttosport:
