Borini is quick and runs nonstop, but he is bit technically limited and doesnt really link up well with others. But decent finisher besides the physical qualities.

he is a good player but not the one that will permit us to make the final step forward

Who cares about Borini ffs.
What we need now in terms of buying is a WC CF then LB to rotate with or bench DC, and then Verratti for next season.
And we're set to go.

So guys & gals I wanted to ask your opinion on something, this Summer is going somewhat the way of last Summer and I think it will end as so. I think you all know what I'm talking about.... The so called top player.

Last Summer, I think we could've got Aguero but it came down to getting numerous good players instead of one very good player. In the end it worked very well and I'm glad we bought the players we did.

This Summer is going the same way, Isla, Asamoah and Giovinco brought in so far, I think we'll end with Destro & a CB too. For me this would be a very good mercato and once again the best in Italy by far.

Are you guys happy with that or would you prefer to skip those players and sign one top player and a few free players as the Summer of Diego & Melo showed.

Please discuss.

A very good mercato so far but i believe we missed out on a much more established striker than Destro in Giroud who would've come at just about the same amount.

I think you are right about what to expect this summer. Am I happy about it? Meh. I'm annoyed that we were led to believe that a top player was going to arrive but I can see this as a solid Mercato and, so far, we are certainly on track to win a second successive scudetto.

Perfectly happy with a mercato of isla, asamoah, giovinco, astori, destro, some LB instead of a superstar + some bit players. We're still rebuilding.

Actually I would LOVE to see a good\decent\young CB (Ogbonna\Astori), a top LB and Destro coming in along with the rest of the players we already got. And go into the CL with Gio, Destro along with the rest of the attacking "talents" we already have. Despite lacking a top class striker, I think we would still have a pretty strong impact in the CL, something similar to Napoli's impact last season. Once we've shown something in the UCL, qualify once more, or perhaps win the Scudetto a second time, then we can be talking about luring the Higuain's, RVP's, Sanchez's, Suarez's etc.

Next season we could get a top CF and perhaps even Jojo too. Higuain, Suarez and maybe even Sanchez, will be tired of their respective clubs, due to different reasons, lack of play (Higgy), lack of competitiveness (RVP, Suarez). We'll definitely have a better shot next year at a top CF.

A bit in the middle.

with playing in 3 compitions we need more depth, well we have adressed that problem with Asamoah, Isla, Giovinco and Pogba.

Yet (so far) we haven't adressed our main problem of the past season, which is having a competent striker.

So if we have improved our squad by much, I doubt but we will remain more or less on the same level.

This year was fine because we had no CL, and we still had Ale.

But we need a heir to Ale, we need someone who can make the difference like Ale did at the end of the season. It'll be tough with CL, without a top striker.

I think we will see another CF along with Destro. It might not be the top player like RVP, Cavani or Higuain, but someone on the second tier with the chance to grow.Let the window open, we can see more. It's too soon , to judge anything so far. A chain reaction can happens if a team like City or Real, signs another forward. Liverpool and Chelsea have not made a stance on where Suarez and Torres is in their plans. The Euro is still going on. Marotta has already mentioned we are looking for some one young and does the job. But I dun't see Destro alone is enough, especially if we do let go Matri and/or Quag. Right now he is working with the Italian market, once he is done within the market , then he can start closing down the targets from foreign league or players playing for the Euro. I think the management prefers to have players signed from within the league to avoid problem adapting to the league like Elia, but if they see the right player they will strike like Vidal.
