Santon's not that good.
He earned my respect while at Inter and in our system, he would be really usefull as a wing back able to defend a bit and help the 3 man defense,
more usefull than an attacking winger like Elia or Krasic.
I dont mind Italians if they are that good or promising, i mind them when they are Motta, Bonucci, Molinaro, Piazenza, Padoin, Borriello etc
DC finally seems fit and healthy now, but next year will be a long season, wouldnt mind another option. And dont forget that DC is very injury prone.

PS havent watch him in EPL, heard that he has many caps though.

don't trust the Japs, sorry.
As sophisticated as allways Jon Lovitz :p

Nah seriously, we have build a promising foundation with the CORE aspects of this team, mobility, pressuring, retaining possession as much as possible, but what we are missing to take the next step are non neanderthal footballers upfront, who can handle the ball and penetrate, be spountaneous/individual while playing really smart at the same time technically and creatively. Kagawa is defenitely a very good candidate for that (especially more so if he would cost half or third of ze price of "markee" signing). First and foremost is quite intelligent with the ball, one-touch passing and clever little solutions in opening up defences.

I dont know how much you saw of that clip I posted, but defenitely worth a watch, its not just your average lazy highlight reel, it doesnt show so much goals or solely fancy dribblings as most do (even for defenders they show goals alot lol), but especially latter half of it, defines the player he is = very mobile and fluid, creates time and space for teammates with his delicate technique and quick decision making.

Santon just seems another okay player to me rather than one that would really make a difference.

I'd be going for a CB to start with Barzagli, playing Chiellini at LB and having De Ceglie as backup for LB.

The alternative is to sign a starting LB and keep Chiellini at CB, but I'd be looking to someone better than Santon if that was the chosen option.

Santon is nothing more then squad backup material, he is solid athletic run of the mill fullback, if we want depth, ok young signing. But since we want starter we should aim for more. De Ceglie offers more or less the same, only difference is their age and that Santon is more reassured on the ball (De Ceglie seems like he is about to panic in his jerky style).

Chiellini at LB??
No thanks. PDC has been doing ok, but defensively he's not that good, i can't imagine how he'd cope against a ribery or a robben for example.
I wish we'd get a great LB but none come to mind that would be available. :(

that's Momblano. The guy who said we signed Guarin. I hope he's right on that one though.

I so hope that comes through, I would prefer a more offensively capable CM then Asamoah, but he is still quite the fucking force as box to box mid, would ensure our midfield remains the dominant presence it has.

Plus that is a very good deal if true, how to do bussiness with somewhat sought after young midfielder who isnt on running out contract.
