Cellino pensa a concludere bene il campionato e, almeno fino a giugno, terrà sicuramente a Cagliari giocatori come Astori e Nainggolan. Obi?

Milan signs Mesbah from Lecce. Imagine if Marotta did that...
Imagine if Marotta signed Luca Toni or Borriello. Oh wait..

Anyway, next season will be great. We'll get Giovinco back who's one of the best players offensively in Italy for a small price. Adding width to the midfield and maybe going for a more reliable, quality scorer, we'll be great.

But Galliani signed Borriello first :frown:

What's the fuss with Luca Toni? We had one striker available when we bought him.
They are both unnecessary my man. Look at Toni, he has been here for 1½ year and he has done nothing, just waste of money. They didn't even use his bench warming services. We should not be involved with players like that.

Toni did what he was brought to the club for. He was a backup striker, and bagged some important goals. I'm not pissed at the Toni transfer at all, I don't get why he hasn't had a chance to play when we have been trailing and needed to put pressure.

Really? He scored two goals and got offered almost 3 million in the process for 12 months. That is 1.5m for every goal. And we're probably stuck with him until the summer which means 1.5 million more in money. Also he's old, way, way over the hill and he's bad.

According to the playing time he got, 2 goals and a few assists ( can't remember the exact number ) is pretty damn impressive, for an over the hill bad player. Toni was the right thing to do, what Del Neri did with it is obvious.

You didn't actually answer Melo's question. We had a half fit Del Piero and Jorge Martinez as our fit forwards at the time.

We had Del Piero, Martinez and were planning on signing Matri.
Martínez :D

And I don't know how you can conclude that the club were planning on signing Matri at the time. We needed Toni immediately because of the injury crisis.

I also thought Toni would have been a fairly good option to use if the Plan A is failing. The 1-1 draw with Bologna earlier this season would have suited him.

Quag was injured and they wanted to sign someone to replace him.

Toni was bad business and I still think we should not be all over players like him. There is a reason why Conte, Bayern, Roma and even fuckin' Genoa didn't want him. If you want a quick fix there are plenty of players out there. We could have even looked for a player to loan for 6 months to sit on the bench. And by loan I mean how normal teams loan players and not "I give you 1 million to loan this player" that Marotta seems to do.

Not really.

Too slow to be a good fullback, not strong enough to be a good CB.

No real sign of determination or willingness to fight either.

And his wages would probably be too big to make him a viable option for backup.
Sounds perfect for Juventus.
