I´d have to agree that Lichts been a huge buy though his offenisve presence aint much. Has someone counted how many goals we´ve conceded from his side. Think its near to zero...

@lavezzi:
i think he is probably worth 31mio (at least he was last season) but on the other hand: for that kind of money we can probably buy back giovincos half + jovetic...
the question is if something like

giovinco - jovetic - vucenic

could work. can jovetic play on the right?

some questions: is there any known number how much we can/want to spend this january?
e.g. would something like caceres (2 + 7mio?) + nainggolan (half of marrone now + 10?) be possible?
(btw. you don´t need to facepalm about the marrone part. it seems like we are getting a CM 100% and this would probably mean that his playing time outside of coppa will drop to close to 0.)

I'd prefer to have a killer there. Jojo has scored a lot this season but I still see him as a SS and the exact same thing can be said about Gio. I'm certain them three could create tons of opportunities but to win the games against Cagliari, Lecce and so forth we would still rely on midfield scoring a lot too. I would prefer if we could have a Trez to kill more teams. Napoli have Cavani, Milan has Ibra, Robinho and so on. I don't just want a bunch of forwards who scores occasionally I want one or two who scores regularly and other who gives them the opportunities and scores occasionally (Lavezzi, Cassano) and so on. Although perhaps Nocerino has been Milan's small team killer this year. :p

true. i kinda had the same thoughts. the problem is that a proven world class "killer" costs 30+.
maybe quag will find his form from the first half of last season again. he was pretty clinical back then. with guys like jovetic/giovinco and vucenic supporting him he would bang in 20++ goals for sure :) (still not really the guy we are looking for to lead our attack :( )

but still we will likely invest heavily on a real striker and that´s probably the way to go. the question is who will be available... as long as real don´t buy a new one i can´t see them letting higuain go.
dzeko looks like the most likely option and even there the chances are looking quite slim...

kinda sucks... quite a few great SS/OM right there for us to take (giovinco, jovetic, ramirez) but not a single real ST :(

Trez was not like any of those names you mention there. He was simply a goal poacher, a beastly goal poacher.

I'd love it if Quag could find himself again, I really love him. :) I too don't think he can be "the one" but we can still dream right? We have half a season before the summer comes, until then we can hope he becomes "it".

You're right, it will be expansive and who to pick I ain't too sure. Those that might be available from the top of my head are damaio, doumbia, villa, falcao(?), berbatov, and i can not recall anyone else right now... but of course we will have more to pick from. However I still haven't seen a full game from Doumbia (only seen 45 min) and I've never seen Damaio play. Villa is WC ofc but injured a lot lately and like Berbatov not becoming any younger. From the two of them I'd prefer Berba because Villa is spanish and they are usually rather unsuccessful in Italy. Berba would probably come cheaper as well.

This is the part I miss the most from Moggi. Nothing was impossible with Moggi. If he wanted to sign someone he did, I'm sure if he wanted he could have signed Totti... :p anyway, nowadays one has to be very logical and rational. "that guy is unhappy at the club, has low salary etc" or simply "he's italian" not like "that guy is wc. i want him".

Quag was never a finisher/scorer tho. As for Robinho, were you being serious? That mofo misses more sitters than all 20 teams in Serie A combined.

We need a CB, LB, backup CM, RWF, and CF/ST. Whether we are going to get them, and if so, when, is another matter entirely.

I have disliked Robinho from the very beginning and everyone knows he misses 19/20 of the chances he gets. This being said he's still scoring winning goals against the smaller teams. I'm not saying he's a poacher or even a good player, just saying that we too need players to beat the small teams. Ibra and Robinho are doing for Milan (among with Nocerino because he's the only one making any runs) and Cavani is doing in Napoli. Right now we're fine as long as Marchisio and Pepe are in super-form does what our attackers can't but when they aren't we're in trouble.

Yes. Trez is a different type of player than those I mentioned. My point was there was that we needed someone who scored regularly like Trez made for us.

We are definitely exceeding all expectations, seeing as the only WC players we currently possess are Buffon and arguably Chiellini, and they are both at the wrong end of the field as fa as scoring goals is concerned.

Del Piero and Pirlo used to be world class, whereas Vidal, Marchisio, and Vucinic are a notch below.

true for the most part but, as i said, he was kinda clinical last season (and added the usual qtube stuff ^^). but i agree that he most likely isn´t the right man for the job. would definately be a great backup to have though :)

@tak:
not sure about the guys you metioned. villa seemed a little bit off his game even before he got injured and nobody knows if he will return to greatness.
damiao is just too risky imo. we shouldn´t gamble here but maybe we will have to :(
falcao is great but too expensive. berbatov will be out of contract in the summer (manu has an option for 1 more year) but he is 30 already and i´m hoping for someone younger.
haven´t seen much of doumbia but afair he is a kinda small guy like villa as well... i guess i would prefer a big fucker in the middle. of course we aren´t crossing that much at the moment but with dezeko (e.g.) in the middle and vucenic+jojo/gio/ramirez/xxx on the wing we could definately change that.
but again: which player is proofen, world class, not too old and a big fucker? ^^
van persie, dzeko, gomez... don´t think we can get any of those with dzeko being the most realistic option

30 million euros for Lavezzi, would you do it?

I'd do it for sure :tuttosport:
Lavezzi is definitely not worth 30 million euro. An attacker who doesn't score can't be worth 30m.

But for this Juve, this set up, for Conte's style...Lavezzi would be worth paying even more than 30m. Hard to imagine more than 4-5 players in the world who would fit like a glove in our system and improve the attack as much as Lavezzi could.

I would still feel kinda robbed though if we pay 30m for him

Barzagli is a very good player, but not world class. One season doesn't make a career. As for Licht, he is still a notch below, like Vidal, Marchisio, and Vucinic.
I say we should buy Messi, Xavi, maybe Vidic for the defence and invest our other 500 mil in other areas to be more competative next season.

You need to work on your sarcasm; not subtle enough ;)

I never said we should have 11 World Class players; unfortunately we can't as we are not Real Madrid or Barca, and don't possess the spending power of Man. City or Chelsea.

However, Benatia, Guarin, Ansaldi, one of Lavezzi/Ramirez/Shaqiri, recalling Giovinco, and one of Higuain/Damiao/Jovetic is not highly unrealistic.
