    In theory how would

    Vidal--Marchisio--Guarin work?
Not sure. Maybe against certain clubs but with 3 at mid we'd need a guy to dictate the tempo. Can Claudio do that? Not sure.

Right. Because there was no possible way he would have added more than Grosso or Molinaro, right?
I'm messing with you. I Husted(?) you at your own game. :p

We need someone good in the right flank.
Or we could try to play Elia for a few weeks.
Only as a result of freakishly lucky results from around the globe. I mean, Udine losing today? Binter beating Milan? We should stop putting our fortunes in the hands of others.
BS, we weren't even title contenders, we would be pleased with a place in the top 5 and look at us now, every team looses points, and will keep on doing so.
Yes we can do with a reinforcement in the backline for is one of Chiellini, Bonucci or Barzagli is out, but I wouldn't change too much now, it might take too long to get them working in the team. How many winter transfers have been a big succes the last few seasons for us.
did Udinese and Binter also score our goals and keep clean sheets for us?
    :agree:

We weren't, aren't, and shouldn't be considered title contenders. The objective is still a Champions League place. We clearly lack quality and depth, and on paper at least, our squad is inferior to the likes of Milan, Inter, and possibly Napoli. However, having said that, there is no point in making purchases just for the sake of procurement. Filling our squad with quantity stop gap signings, fillers, and other team's garbage won't do the trick.

Our current aim should be to finish the season as strongly as we possibly can, qualifying for the Champions League (otherwise it'd be a disaster of epic proportions), after which we can move along to the next phase. Consolidation is the name of the game at this point in time.

Once we have qualified for the CL, we need to address certain issues:

    A) The defense: Lacking in both quality and depth. We need a new LB, someone to deputize for Lichsteiner if need be, and a new CB (Bonnucci sucks donkey balls, and doesn't even warrant/deserve a bench role). Get rid of Grosso, Motta, Bonnuci. Bring in one of Ansaldi/Caceres and Benatia/Hummels and we are set in this department.

    B) The midfield: the Marchisio-Pirlo-Vidal tandem is the reason why we are as competitive as we have been this season. No need to tamper with it. However, we need to add more depth and quality. Radja/Guarin, and promoting Appelt from the youth team should do the trick. Cuntbags like Behrami and Palombo are not the answer!

    C) The attack: Vucinic is the only untouchable in the current attacking trident. We need an upgrade "on works his ass off, but has no talent and a skill set akin to that of a paraplegic two toed sloth" Pepe, and a more clinical/lethal finisher than Matri. Borriello is not it! Amauri, Iaquinta, Toni, Del Piero   and Borriello should be on their way out. Add two names from Giac, Elia, Esti, and Krasic, and we clearly need both quality reinforcements and depth in this department. Recall Gio, one of Ramirez/Ozil/Shaqiri/Jovetic, coupled with Benzema/Higuain/Damiao and we are leaner, meaner, and rid of almost all the dead-weight!

We are still 1 point clear on top though, people need to relax a little. This slump was always going to come, let us see how we deal with it first. We should be playing Esti instead of Pepsi, where is he at?

I'm not panicking or anticipating disaster. I'm just saying what should be done, the next logical step from hereon in. If all goes according to plan and we make the CL, then quality and depth must be added to the squad. No point in adding fillers and stop gap solutions who offer next to nothing, and end up siphoning wages, taking up space, a number, and being utterly useless.

We are hardly in a funk/slump, but inevitably we are going to lose at some point, and might go 2-3 games without picking up a win. We should expect/anticipate that in advance so as not to be disappointed when it does eventually happen.
