Rossi is not a top player; he's very good, but not a top player. He isn't a game changer or a difference maker. He can't be the jewel in the crown, but rather a complement to a better player. Perhaps he can be considered a top player for a team vying for CL qualification, or participation in the Europa league, but for a contender, a team aspiring to remain competitive both on the local and European stage, then Rossi is most definitely not "the go to guy."

If Carrol and co. are going for 40+, Bale is going to cost a similar amount which the risk isn't worth. And no top British player is gonna come Serie A anytime soon anyway.

We'll probably get less established talents from France or Germany, or from Serie A like Ramirez or Jojo xfinger
