Winter Mercato:

Out: Amauri, Iaquinta, Krasic, Pazienza

in: Boriello, Caceres, Palombo, Alex

This is a distinct rise in quality.
What quality? The only quality in there is Alex, and he's been quite shit lately, whether it be injury, form, motivation, etc...

Barilla and Falombo are pure quantity purchases, and the verdict is still out on Caceres.

Rise in quality. Your personal beef with Boriello has nothing to do with the fact that he is a solid striker, no world beater by any means - but certainly more useful for the team than two strikers with a combined wage of almost 8m eu/year who have not made the bench once under our present coach.

No beef; I prefer seafood with my pasta :p I just don't like walking STD's.

He is not a quality striker; he has been irrelevant for 3 years now, scoring 26 goals over the past 3 seasons, and he is no spring chicken at 29. I have to accept him if he is to arrive, much to my chagrin, but anything other than a loan with an option to send his ass back to Roma is ludicrous in my humble opinion.

We can't sign both Caceres and Alex right , since we only have one non-EU place, unless either one of them having an EU passport. I think Caceres, is a signing for depth. He will be our 5th defender, someone who can cover any holes in the defense in the even of an first choice player getting injured. He's going to do what Ivanovic does for Chelsea, what Zabaleta does for Man City,Bonera for Milan. We need some good cover on the bench as well, especially when its clear that Conte doesn't want Motta or De Ceglie anywhere near the team. I think both of them will be sold sooner rather than later.
