We need someone like Ansaldi though; we can't and shouldn't keep playing Chiellini @ LB. Let's not be fooled by our performances in Serie A; our defense has still been suspect at times, and the quality in the CL is far superior. One mistake can be the difference between qualification and elimination; there are no 2'nd chances. Improving our defense with a quality LB and a quality starting CB to pair with Chiello is far more important than the acquisition of Montopussy, who is never going to be a world class player. The best we can hope for is that he becomes more consistent and more of a man!

We need a real guru here to answer that one. ESPN quoted him last season saying he would join us.

Either way I think we should go after him and sell Quagliarella. Only a left back is then needed to complete this team with one or two decent back ups to add. Could be within the budget.

Indeed he has; until 2014. Other rumors in circulation state that Real Madrid have wrapped up a 55 Million Euro deal for him.

Anyway, we have too many holes to fill to be wasting our budget on one stellar signing.

I wish we could just have my Fifa manager team:

Neuer (buffon retired)
Licht - Hummels - Chiellini - Kolarov
Vidal - De Rossi - Marchisio
Nani - Lukaku - Elia

That attacking trio doesn't look particularly impressive. If we replaced Pepe with Shaqiri, Gotze, Hazard, or someone of that caliber, our current attacking trio would look so much better than the one on your Fifa Manager team.
