What are our scouts doing and why have we not fired and replaced all of them? So far our scouts have found, what? During the past five years pretty much everyone else has scouted and found players from all around the world who has turned out key players for their new teams. We have found Ekdal who we seemingly don't want, Appelt who we have no idea how will turn out, can't really say Sissoko was a good scouting job. So far I've only seen one really good scouting job and this is Sörensen.

I can't possibly consider Vidal, Lich or someone at that level as a good scouting job. Not when they are already so well respected players in their leagues and key players in their club. And no I can't blame all of this on Secco or Marotta. I could make a list of all our failed acquisitions but that would be uninteresting and hard to tell who pulled the trigger. Keep in mind I'm talking about scouting and finding "new" players not making good bargains like Barzagli, that's Marotta's job.

Edit: Maybe this should have been posted somewhere else. I was just a bit annoyed and started typing to get rid of it.

Are you prepared to give the (relatively new) set up at Juventus a couple more seasons to see how everyone progresses? Fairly sure most of these new, unknown players are too young to be in the first team at the moment, barring an injury crisis. Sørensen got fairly lucky. Appelt, Appelt, Bransecu, Gouano, Simunac, Magnusson, Pol Garcia...perhaps others.

The only other player I can think of that the old Juventus management may get credit for could be Carlos Garcia (correct me if I'm wrong, don't follow the youth squads intensely).

Just throwing a name in there. What about Parolo as midfield sub? Lots of energy and decent eye for the goal. Could cover for Vidal and Marchisio decently, I reckon.

Yeah but how many top clubs really get cheap players who become first teamers?
Apart from Barca (who operates more like a national team), most clubs wouldn't be too different to us would they. We do have Marchisio and Chiellini.

Definitely, long term processes sais itself that it takes time but having a decent youthsystem is nothing new. Looking for talents to the youthsystem is a good thing as long as we can take care of them when they are turning 19-20 (which we never have).

Yeah the Swede looks promising, it was through the old management as you say. Although since he's from our youth team I expect him to be shipped away as soon as he's ready for it. As for the rest I suspect the same scenario. I would love it if we could give these guys some chances, some perhaps not straight away but others 15 minute here and there after christmas. I don't see any problems with our youth system who has over the past 20 years made tons of Serie-A players. Every team in the league has at least one or two Juve-Scholars. In this case you're right, although we still don't know what to do with them when they grow up with the exception of Marchisio.

But while we're doing this well in this department we're spending endless of money on overpriced players and this can't only be blamed on Secco/Marotta. Why did we not find Subotic, Cissokho, JoJo, Cavani, Thiago Silva, Kjaer and so on? None of these are from their operatives youthsystem but scouted young players bought at decent price (I don't mean what Lyon payed to FCP...).

Perhaps this discussion should be taken in another thread. I am however not saying that you're wrong.

Fiorentina offering Montolivo to us ( Trying to start a bidding war with Milan).

Roma offered Juan wich we declined.

Roma wants Bonnucci.
If we sign a CB in January, and then sell one as well I think thats pretty counter-productive.

Sure we'll bring in a quality CB ( I hope, and I hope its Hummels) but we need depth as well and giving away Bonucci would dumb. Especially in January.
