Are you serious? He's good at defending and he's very good while going forward. Great matches for our NT too.

Judging by your words I'd describe Grosso like that.

:sergio:
Kolarov isn't that different in style to Grosso.

He's better, of course, but he ain't a player I'd be paying a big fee and big wages for.

Anyway, aside from the merits of Kolarov as a player, I think Juve ought to be going for a more defensive LB.

He was overpaid because it was City. But he had a beast season at Lazio and he was by far the best LB in Serie A.

And no, not defense LB for God's sake. Lich is enough, we don't need 4 defenders who are clueless going forward.

Why not a more defensive LB?

Juve are playing without a DM and have a RB that looks to charge up and down the line the whole game.

Also, they could do with having a fullback that is comfortable tucking in and helping the CBs out, because with the players Juve have just now, I see the CBs being left very exposed on occasion.

And why do people assume that when I suggest a more defensive player for any position that I want someone who is 'clueless going forward'? I'm suggesting someone who is a good defender; that doesn't have to mean that they are bad at attacking.

I don't want Kolarov. I want a LB that is simillar in style to Lichsteiner. Conte wants defensive full backs.

Frankly a LB clone of Lichsteiner would be the dream :fap:

I would like a good defensive LB but that is mostly because of how poor our selection of CBs is atm.

Why and when did he say that? People, coaches included, keep underrating the importance of offensive FBs. :sergio:

Balzaretti is my favourite anyway, what a beast (defensively and offensively).
It's just a report i read a while ago, A defensive FB like Red said does not mean he has no clue going forward.
Jéremy Mattieu is the best we can get  :klin:

If Marchisio is playing then yes. But Vidal offers more aggressive style in midfield. Also, if some kick ass players gets his ass on Pirlo I don't think we're gonna see any creative moment, unlike against Parma. That way we'd be stuck with 'defenders'. I think Lich is quite stable in defense but I think he's clumsy going forward.

Why do I assume that? Because every time I've seen you suggest a player you mentioned defending abilities... even for wingers, not to mention fullbacks. But yeah, name me some fullback who's a good defender and good going forward? I clearly can't think of any. Actually, I thought that was Kolarov but you think he's shit judging by your words. So who is it that would be in your 'list'?

Think we have a decent base after this summer's mercato but the most important thing should be taking out the dead-wood to be honest. Some crazy wages on Toni, Iaquinta, Amauri, which can be used in a more effective manner later.

Also, I would prefer if we went with a more concrete signing when it comes to Chiellini's partner next summer than doing some fuckery in January. Subotić!

Well, that's just my opinion about FBs... inverted.
An attacking FB does not mean he has no clue at defending.

I remember people calling Coentrao not very good at defending (which is false) and imo those Coentraos, Marcelos and Alves (quality apart, because they would own anyone) are better in the pressure chapter, a key point for any big team, and compense their 1v1s weakness with pace, stamina and fight spirit. If the target is a defensive FB, just put Chiellini on the left...
