People we aren't playing 4-4-2 we are playing 4-2-4 there's a difference. Brazil won the 1958 and 1970 world cup playing this system. For this system you need players that are able to pass the ball. So not a surprise we are looking at wingers that are good with the ball at their feet, just don't think they have enough quality.

A CB with good passing ability would also be a very good option to have for this system, but looks like we'll settle on Alves. Alves himself is a good player and a large improvement over Bonucci so I can't complain too much.
Did you say 1958 and 1970?

I seriously hope we keep Simone Pepe. He is more useful than friggin' Krasic who has been useless for most of the time...

yes two of the best teams ever player a 4-2-4. So this system is not so crazy as it seems.
true, there is one big problem, though - those Brazil teams did so before Ajax's total football took over the world ... after that, exotic systems like a true 4-2-4 became a form of suicide.

Anyways, I still maintain that this 4-2-4 thing from Conte is just a glorified 4-4-2 and nothing more - any team with more attacking backs, allowing the wingers a bit further up the field, playing in a 4-4-2 can easily claim they have 4-2-4, merely a matter of semantics.

Yes this has been estabilished. The 4-2-4 is just how his system is described in the media.

Yes, we are clearly playing a simple 4-4-2. Especially in defense. Classic "two banks of four" defending with no pressure and 2 strikers walking around upfront.

Taiwo and Aquilani - going in the average direction.
yep, pretty average signings - they are plenty good for Milan to repeat the scudetto in this serie A, what Milan's missing are signings that would take the team a level up in the CL.
Still better mercato, even as it is, than the years after the '07 CL win

You guys have Zlatan and Pato. Those two are amazing players. You guys could definitely sign one or two people to your midfield.
