Tevez is nowhere near the player Etoo is, Etoo've been arguably in the top 3 stiker in the world for the last 5 years.

Of course it does, the Agnelli family are intrinsically tied to the city of Turin and Juventus, they know the people and understand the club. That goes for anyone else foreign or Italian in comparison. I don't see how being a random fan compares to being an owner but it depends how proud you are perhaps.

That also doesn't mean to say a rich arab wouldn't do a good job. Considering to most football fans now throwing a (seemingly) blank cheque at everything is doing a good job, as long as they can watch the best players and boast to other fans. But then if everyone does that only one club can still win each title each year. If people think these guys genuinely care about the club they are kidding themselves, like anything they will become fond and attached, but they care about their investment and prestige. This is just boasting, comparing prestigious and monetary penises.

I think post-Farsopoli we spent about €100m net, plus this year which is about €55m or so, will probably be slightly above that once last purchases/sales are accounted for. In terms of fees this should have us steady in the CL places and maybe an outside challenge, but our wage difference is miles off the top CL teams. We've added a lot of good players on good wages, not a few top players on top wages. Either is a gamble, we can't afford any more failures.

The ultimate goal is nevertheless to win titles. You are much more likely to do that if you spend money. Manchester City is in my view definitely going to win more titles than Juventus in the foreseeable future. The owner caring about the tradition and culture of the club is completely irrelevant as long as titles are won. I really think Elkann looks at Juve as either a financial instrument or a very expensive hobby. He's definitely not a hardcore fan frankly because he has plenty of other things on his mind. Agnelli cares because he's the president and it's in his interest to care.
Besides the Agnellis today are what they are because of chance of birth. Didn't they grow up all over the world? Look at John for example, born in New York and then educated in the UK, Brazil and Paris. Not much of a connection to Turin.

I really don't think ownership matters other than it's effect on the influx of money. You could also look at Arsenal which I think is a pretty good example. They don't have a caring majority London based personality as their owner but their fans care just the same. Besides the only way owners can ruin their clubs is to drain them of money.

Besides foreign ownership I believe doesn't really change much about the culture of the club. I haven't noticed Chelsea becoming overly Russian or Man City middle eastern.
