Yeah, you heard me. I didn't say he was a better passer than Pirlo. I said he is better overall, meaning, his overall game of offense + defense. Let's see how badly the team gets bent over and fcked if Conte uses 4-4-2 with Pirlo. It's like bending over in a prison and saying pretty please.

Except Pirlo's WC passing and vision more than makes up for his lack of work in defense. I initially thought we would be fucked if we played Pirlo in a two man midfield, but Vidal seems like the perfect partner - he never stops running and can play box-box, destroyer & in the hole). Also, our left winger (Vargas/Bastos) should be able to help out in defense. We could play 4-3-3 in defense and switch to 4-2-4 on the attack.
Don't go me wrong, I would welcome him to the team, but not in the place of Pirlo. Although Conte's 4-2-4 doesn't really need a regista, Gago may be more useful in that. But in a 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 etc I would take Pirlo anyday of the weel.
Will you listen to yourself and get a grip? In the first place, you're just basing your opinion on descriptions that you've read about Vidal. A 2-man midfield with Pirlo and the defense will get bumfcked. Second, what happens to this utopian midfield if Vidal gets injured and Juventus has games coming up against Milan and Inter, Pirlo-Marchisio and Pirlo-Pazienza? Third, there is no Vargas/Bastos... yet. Fourth, let's say a miracle occurs and Juventus finish in the top 3. Will you play a 2-man midfield with a 33 year old Pirlo in the champions league?
Keeping all this in mind, why are you against adding a quality young central midfielder to the squad who can play well in 4-4-2 and 4-3-3, at a very reasonable price?

Pirlo has extra value in teams like Italy and the current Juve where no-one upfront has the skill/speed to beat their man and create numerical advantage. So we need to rely on some precision, intelligent passing.
Also, i'm surprised no interest in Ilicic this summer. I'd like to get a player who's value might actually go UP for once.

The 4-3-3 you posted with Gago-Pirlo-Vidal and Vucinic-Matri-Krasic looks very nice. Alternating between that and a 4-2-4 with Vargas and Pirlo-Vidal would be quite good.
But I'd never take Gago over Pirlo unless I already had a regista better than Pirlo (Xavi...) or I was using a one man midfield (4-1-2-1-2).

I didn't say he was shit. I feel Gago is more useful. Keep in mind, the great thing about Vidal as a CM/DM is that he likes to get forward and assist or score goals. If he's covering for Pirlo constantly, that will take away a big part of his game. Also keep in mind that Pirlo is going to be 33. He can't play a 2-man midfield for 90 minutes or for the whole season.
Don't you think this is all the more reason not to play with a weak midfield which will concede goals?
The loan with an option to buy is a very good idea, if Madrid will go for it. Vucinic - €15m, Gago - €10m, Perotti/Bastos/Vargas - €10-12m and Lugano - €3m. For €38-40m, I feel the team is complete.

Gago would be a GREAT buy! With him, Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio, Pazienza and a few youngsters we would have some really good depth for CM! However Gago or a player like shouldn't be the type of player we should be looking for we need a LW because of the formation Conte wants to use, if it was a 4-3-3 then Gago-Pirlo-Vidal would be GREAT! I really hope Conte ditches the whole 4-2-4 or 4-4-2...
People didnt see us play the 4-4-2 4-2-4 formation and already want a change...
I understand your concerns but the fact is it worked well with his Serie B clubs and he wants to deploy it here so we should at least give it a chance
I do however hope he has a backup plan in case it doesnt work like changing to 4-3-3 Which I don`t think it should be such a problem
