I get the feeling in the past few years, we had to play a 2 striker system for DelPiero but surely that couldn't still be a factor.
I remember Ferrara was playing a 4-2-3-1 for a while while ADP was injured and we were doing well.

No top team is playing with 2 stay at home strikers, because the midfield just can't cope anymore. Mourinho even made Eto play on the wing.
