Juan seems to be our only alternative atm. Of course we can't tell how Rolando would adapt to Serie A, he might become a phenomenon
Juan is class. Phenomenon? C'mon...

I see he's about to turn 26. That's still young for a CB and those are some 6 years minimum that he can give.
I have no idea though how good he is and if he's overhyped or not. Watched Porto at most 3 times in the last 2 years.
Yeah but he said 'Young top potential players'. It sounds like he's 19yo coming out to football. I highly doubt he can develop more at that age now, he doesn't look like someone who'd turn into a WC player over the night. But yeah I don't think he's old or how that could be the issue.

Perotti is a right footed player, i wonder why are we going for all the right footers when we havent got any left footer for the wings. I hope we sign two wingers especially when we are looking to sell off either Pepe or Martinez. Another thing i dunt think Seville will let him go considering they just sold Capel. Perotti is staying unless we make a mad offer of 20mill+. Didn't Rolando just sign a new contract ? I dunt think we can sign him for 10million if he did sign a new contract.

we're not in champions league..or europa league and that boy would be so useful that i really don't think we have a shot at him..
But he's not better than Bonucci.

We'd be stuck with Chiellini who's very good, and other decent DCs, which isn't something to be proud of really.

You never know, Camo...

I'd be delighted if we signed Juan.

He is young for a CB  They usually develop most during their mid twenties.

Top post. Totally agree. Hummmels/Subotic would do, no?

They are both great.

why isn't he better than bonucci? what does bonucci have and rolando doesn't? (italian passport ? :D)
He didn't show anything that makes him better. And that's the thing, I don't want to compare our potential new CB with a decent player like Bonucci. Compare him with Chiellini, I don't want to be stuck with mediocrity in the back line, which was always our most vulnerable spot.

compare him with chiello then, rolando had a better season, that's obvious

How devastating it will be for some if we swap Marchisio with Vucinic.
Vucunic? for what, LM/LM or SS? Cause then what was the point in signing Quag & Matri, unless one of them is going to be sold. Marotta either doesn't make sense or he doesn't know what he is doing at all.

I'd go for both and add to that his inability to finalize deals.

What other good GM's/sporting directors are there? And how long does Marotta have left on his contract? The guy that was at Napoli 1 year ago? Marino or something? forget his name, he was pretty good, one thing is for sure, we need someone who actually knows/understands the International market, i.e. anything outside of Italy, cause Marotta strikes me as someone that either is not aware of the quality players in these places or he is just plainly incompetent, and once he get's desperate he always signs mediocre italians from Serie A clubs, like on the last day of the transfer markets. Either way after this mercato we should get rid of him.

there's no point in arguing/debate with you about this matter because you don't take facts as evidence
What facts? Numbers? Stats?

Dude, even for Porto's fans it's debatable that he's their better CB. He's average, won't be better than what he's and he's being way too overrated thanks to AVB wonderfull season. At the moment he's better than Bonucci but that doesn't say much to me as he was playing in a well worked defense.

If you want a CB from Portugal take Daniel Carriço (played against us, Sporting's captain).
