Bastos, Vidal, Rossi & an experienced CB will easily compete for top 3, maybe even 2nd spot since merda is selling Sneijder to Man U. Our main weakness from last season has been fixed with Lichtsteiner and Ziegler (providing Ziegler plays well). Bastos would be a great addition because of his ability to at LB. If so, Quag or Rossi could be probably be shifted out to LF/LW.

Although, I'm not sure that Rossi & Vidal are even necessary. Melo could play the midfield destroyer role and Matri & Quagliarella (injury free) can easily score enough goals. With the money saved from not buying Rossi & Vidal (€40m+) we could buy a LW backup, RB backup, buy a better CB to partner with Chiellini and a LB (Cissokho).

How about fuck Bastos and Vidal, and go for Modric.

Buffon
Licht - Bonucci - Chiellini - Ziegler
Melo - Modric - Marchisio
Krasic - Matri - Rossi

Licht 10M, Modric 40M, Rossi, 25M

That's 75M.

Licht 10M, Bastos 15M, Vidal 15M, Rossi 25M

That's 65M

However for 10M we could have one of the finest midfields in Europe, in addition to a decent backline and strong attack.

Modric is not going to join Juve unless we're playing in CL and we're winning trophies and have other players of similar class.

Beats me.

But for now that's my dream team. :D

Now that's a totally new squad. But it looks good

why would modric join juve?
He plays at Tottenham. No offense to that club but Juventus' appeal is in a different league. Serie A may have declined in appeal compared to England and Spain but the club can target quality players. It has to start somewhere and sometime, right?

I feel it's highly important to:
1. Target high quality players.
2. Plan on using these players as starters and as the core of the team for a long-term.
3. Sell the idea to those players of building the next great Juventus squad with them as starters.

The club has to get serious though and not just :tuttosport: around.

Wish it was that simple, getting few good players wouldn't change much in this team.

Remember we had decent results against the top teams in the league ( not just last season rather for the past 3 seasons). Yet we screwed up "Big" time against the shittiest teams in the league.

It's a mentality issue more than anything else. How can we fix that?

Getting a really great coach ( a mourinho type) to get us out of this swamp and to be honest I don't see Conte being that guy. I'd expect another average season where we'll Finnish top 5 at best.

I'm not completely sure of it, but it seems like Conte might be that guy. I'd say Conte's 4-2-4 system will prove to be much more effective and productive against the smaller teams and he really does seem like a winner. I remember him saying a little while ago that he hated players smiling after a loss or draw. I think he will bring back the true Juventus spirit and teach the new players what it means to play for Juve. A lot of the times we lost/drew against smaller teams was when we gave up a lead. I can't see Conte settling for this like Delneri did. Delneri is mediocrity. Conte is not, he is a real winner, he has won the Champions League.

And as I said in my previous post, the main issue - defense, seems to have been fixed or at least improved dramatically since last term. All we need now is one more CB to replace Bonucci and maybe a backup for RB. Our defense cost us a lot of games last year and I imagine if Chiellini had been injured or didn't play, our season would have been much worse.

I believe we will finish top 4 [provided Vidal (or Melo plays DM), Bastos, Rossi/Aguero/Tevez & a CB come in].

What a joke that Germany gets 4 places in the CL.

Look I dont doubt that the Italian league has declined and us as well as the other Italian teams should have performed better in the EL, but we have been better than Germany in the past decade in the CL.

Sorry to go off topic.
