But would we use Ivanovic as a CB or RB?
He would be a CB, i remember him being unhappy playing RB ans saying that he' d prefer to play as CB, reports claim that Chelsea are close to sign VDW so you never know.
It would be as mentioned one of the best transfer we could pul. The price mentioned is 15-20mil .

FI reporting that there is nothing in place with rossi :xfinger:

http://www.football-italia.net/jul13b.html
Smokescreen. However, if is deal goes through, I think Marrotta should be let go off, coz quite obviously, he only wants to do deals with friends. And unfortunately for us, his friends are either small clubs or small agents. Which means the only way we're ever getting out of this predicament is, if someone with a pair of balls or a unibrow decide to take over and run this club like it's meant to be.

As an individual, I think Rossi is a good buy, but in terms of value, for the money we're trying to save on the Aguero deal, I think it's absolutely pathetic that we'd let go of a deal like that for a few million. It maybe the principle of the matter for Marrotta, like in the Piazon case. But I don't think his ethical thought process should come before what's best for the club. Rossi is not leaps and bounds ahead of Quag, for instance and a similar player, while Aguero is a better complement to both Quag and Matri. I just don't see the logic in spending 35m on the latter two and then splashing another 30m on a player similar one that you have just bought. The best way to invest that 30m is on an LW of the highest quality to give is team a little more dimension than a purchase like Rossi would.

Last year was too glaring a mistake not to have learnt from it, and I think it's fairly obvious to Marrotta how he needs to go about correcting the mess he's made. And while some of us would absolve him, for nit being able to close the deal with or without, the existence of ManCity, I know I wouldn't, for the simple reason that he yet again, spelled out his target. Something, even an amateur like Conte realises would triple the price, As far as I'm concerned, there are no excuses this year. Still, even though Marrotta deserves little or benefit of the doubt, I'm going to have to say Aguero remains our primary target. No point second guessing ourselves till the end of the Copa.

Ivanovic would be an amazing transfer and I think he'd work with Chiellini pretty well. He also covers the right side so if necessary he can get Lich's spot and move on the right.

He has everything a top defender should have. That being said, I don't see him coming here.

Casemiro directly translates to 'piece of shit'.
:D

it's just PR crap - he probably knows Inter are the club most serious about bringing him to Europe - was the case while Leo was there - and he's just tickling them in all the right places ... provided the quote is genuine to begin with.

Marca: ATM wants Falcao in case Aguero leaves 30mil.
yeah right
(But Falcao doesnt want them.)

Seriously, Porto (AVB) throw away all their chances of history. With their squad and that guy, they could easily be considered as CL contenders. They would just need a CB and maybe a RB. Having said that, Atletico is a step down for him. Not to mention that his agent is like RM's best friend.

Ivanovic would be a wonderful transfer but there is no way in hell we can finalize a deal there. It's even more difficult than Agüero.

Our only chance would be Krasic. I don't know how good friends they are, but they know each other since forever since they went through the youth teams together and they lived in Moscow at the same time for two years. I'm guessing they're good friends.

But in order to get to Krasic's influence, there are like 5 important things that need to happen:
- Chelsea to want to sell him
- Juve to be willing to pay +15m euro for a CB
- No big team to offer him better contract
- No big team to offer much more to Chelsea than what we are willing to offer
- Ivanovic to be willing to make a big step backward from playing for an EPL and CL favorite to playing for a team fighting for a CL spot

I'm afraid that Ivanovic to Juve is nothing more but a silly rumor.

We spent 15m on Bonucci. We bloody well be willing to spend that amount in Ivanovic. I think if his salary needs are met, then he might just be open to a move I feel, although I don't think Juve would go for an expensevish CB unless Bonucci is sold. Which is not out of the realm of possibility, but I wouldn't be keen on selling unless we are clear about who we want to replace him with. The last thing I want, is to sell him and then overpay for a Kjaer type replacement.

That's why I said what I said but I stand to correct you about one point:

It is enough that another team pays just slightly more than we did and Marotta will back off. No bidding wars means no bidding wars no matter what the amount is. 1 € is enough for him to stop negotiations.
