All those signings will get us nowhere if we dont get a LW and a CB
Marchisio is not a LW. He might give us 2-3 good games but overall he is not a LW
Pasquato altough talented is still young and we cant put all the burdon on him

As for our defence many goals are conceded because we dont have a proper CB to prevent them from happening

I agree with your first few points but not on the defence issue

Dont think the problem is Bonnucci..at least i hope he proves he isnt it

What i like bout Conte'ss work so far is our defending as a team which we so dearly lacked last year..weve conceded only one goal since our loss to sporting keeping clean sheets in the process

Thats the only improvement ive seen in our team so far

Aye, and I'm happy that we're still looking for another CB, supposedly a notch above in quality than we currently have (save Chiello). That cliche about building from the back...it's the truf'

Destroyer of opponents legs maybe. But for destroying opponents game he is just too stupid. His positioning is piss poor, his tackles are usually borderline assaults and he doesn't read the game very well. I see him more of a box-to-box midfielder so he could replace Vidal in that formation someone posted, but I surely won't complain for offloading Melo since his replacement is Vidal.
Haha, borderline assaults. :)
Melo isn't WC I'm starting to see that now, but I wouldn't say he's useless. I know you're not saying that though. I used to defend Melo before, I liked his grinta and his ability to piss people off. But even I can see that he has some responsibility in our decline.

I haven't seen any pre season games so far so looking forward to TIM today. A general question concerning our LB situation since you guys have seen most of the games. Should I grow worried about our LB or has Ziegler proven he's starting material? Is the LB situation solved?

Five new players in the six up front. Add to that Licht and Ziegler + a possible CB like Alex or Lugano and we will have 8 of our first eleven changed. Now that's when a team is doomed to failure.
Yes, if we were in the EPL and fighting to win the trophy against 3-4 other big teams and the CL against even more great teams. In a weak serie A, with no European football, when the objective is to make the CL, it might not end up that bad, especially if the new players are superior to the old ones.

absolute nonsense.

his first season, he was asked to play as a regista, which is not at all his natural position. A team spends 25m on a rugged, bullish mainly defensive central midfielder, then deploys him a la Pirlo...that first season was not Melo's fault. Also the manager (Ciro) didn't have a fucking clue how to manage.

his second season, he was surely our most consistently decent player. Strangely enough, he was played in his natural position. And yes, in many games he DID provide an insurmountable barrier in front of the defence. By all means, I agree that he fucked up in the parma game. but thats one game. one moment of lunacy all season, other than which, i doubt he had one of the worst disciplinary records on the league. that game was a major turning point for us, but i dont blame melo. we were looking shit before the new year, seemed to run out of steam. in fact, every player in our squad came out of last season without any credit, except Melo and Storari. The case fo chiellini and bonucci is also a little hazy, as they were both playing, for large periods of the season, two positions each.

Someone refresh my memory...why couldn't we sign Mascherano a few years back? I remember something about complications with MSI? Was he too expensive?

Also, was he personally willing to join us? I think I've read some comments on here suggesting he 'likes' Juve, but I'm not sure.
