If you look at the transfer market so far, we have spent EU38m in transfer fees (Lich 10m, Vidal 13m, Vucinic 15m) excluding the deals for Pepe, Motta, Matri & Quags (which were accounted for in last year's accounts). The talk was for EU50m in net spend.
We have already sold Sissoko for 7m and are getting 1.5m for Melo for his first year of loan (will get the rest of the 11.5m later assuming we don't want him back).
So that means our net spend so far is just under 30m. Amauri, Iaquinta & Martinez are likely to be sold. Even if i was really pessimistic on what we can get for those, I reckon thats another EU15m in total for those 3 players. That means our net spend is only 15m.
In other words, we can spend another EU35m. So a player like Bale or Nani is not out of reach if we got them for 25m AND got Alex for 10m.
However, its most likely we get Vargas for EU15m and another quality defender for 10m and leave the 10m left over for the winter transfer market.
I mean, the mere fact that we got Vucinic instead of Rossi is a 10m saving - Vucinic instead of Aguero a 20m saving. You know we have cash left over for some more deals. No doubt in mind about that.
