It's fucking easy to get 3rd. All we have to do is not fuck up against the small teams. If we played properly against them even LAST year we could have made 3rd. You can't go there against these shit teams and sit back, you have to press the fuck out of them and kill the game in the first half. Like Napoli did all year.

I think Conte knows this. And we have no excuse next year not to be 100% for every game as we're not even in Europe.

We lost to Bologna, Lecce, Bari and twice to Parma. Not even mentioning the retarded draws we ended up with in games like Cesena, Brescia, Samp.

We don't know how to use our money wisely Lion. Its a matter of priorities. If we're looking at attack, then we should look for someone on the cheap considering our options, and there are two quality options in Cassano and Diego. On the wing, we're willing to pay 15m for Vargas and Bastos, but not Mata who is a step above both, with a negligible difference in price, if any. Same goes for the d. I like Lugano as a signing, but its a mere stop gap. And we're going to be in this very position in a couple of years, by which time Coates maybe worth 15m. Better to close that deal now. I agree about the physicality of the team. However, a lot of us maybe wrong in believing Vucinic is coming here at the expense of Rossi. I'm going to have to say, I unfortunately believe hes going to be blocking Bastos or Vargas instead with Rossi coming on the last day of the mercato.

And that to me, is going to leave us with some work to do in the next mercato as well, which shouldn't have been the case with this cash injection.
Stop assuming all this nonsense

1) we have a cheap attack, adding more cheap options does nothing. adding quality like rossi or vucinic does.
2) mata for just over 15 mil ? are you nuts ? valencia got third and championsleague, why would a spanish promising players come down to an italian giant struggeling ? spanish players hate the serie a, only milaneese sides can attract them at the mment.
3) the cash injection is a fraction of what was promised. we can hardly buy what we need

I'd say for the 'current' serie A, it should be a pretty good mercato. People are overrating the Milans', Napoli, and co big time. In fact, they were embarrassing in Europe.

We were running top 3 last year until the break and then Del Neri was useless in turning around the slump quick enough.

Once CL is back, it should be alot easier to attract the Hazards, Neymars etc.

Conte was a legendary player for us, I'd give him a chance at coaching Juventus, he earned that. If he coaches half as good as he was as a player, we'll be fine. :D

At least you know for sure that he's coaching us not just to put it on his resume, he's doing it because he loves Juventus.

Would everyone be happy with

----Buffon/Storari-----
Lich/Motta-Chiello/Bonu-Lugano/Barzagli-Ziegler/DC

Krasic/pepe-Vidal/Marchisio-Pirlo/Pazienza-Vargas/Pasquato
------------------Matra/Quag-Vucinic/Alex/Toni------------

I think that could make 3rd.

I think that's the most we could hope for at this stage, although it still sickens me to see the names of Motta and Pepe in our squad.

I'm guessing there's no point anymore asking who our big money signing will be right? All this talk of bringing in a player of the same quality as Aguero/Benzema/Tevez will have to come back and bite Marotta on the ass, although I'm sure he has already got an answer ready for it, bidding wars, difficult market, hard to compete with other leagues, we've made important signings :blah:

Ribery, 28, high transfer-fee, high wages, injury-prone. I am not very sure that I would spend €25 mln on him.
28 is fine , actually it should be more than fine , high transfer fee and wages , well , he is a world class player and you need really badly a match changer in your team, and you can't expect champions to sign for you for cheap and low wages .
And for his injuries , I would rather have him for 25 games a season than seeing Vargas the whole season !
