Juan is an amazing player.

I think he'd make a great duo with Chiellini. On the other hand, 3 year contract to him would be a no from me. He's a much better option than Heinze, though.

If we're chasing Juan we might as well chase Lugano who'm I hold higher and is younger. Also, he's from Uruguay and when we get rid of Martinez we won't have any other player from Uruguay. burdisso-mexes was the preferred partnership when both were available last year, right?

Juan was always first choice, Burdisso and Mexes fought for the other spot.

My recollection is that Ranieri preferred Burdisso initially, then Mexes forced his way into the team, but got a serious injury and didn't play much in the second half of the season.
