All depends on the players around him.

I'd rather have Ziegler than Antonini, even though he got relegated and Antonini won the title.
Exactly. I think Pirlo is going to ease the pressure from the distribution out of the back..."hopefully" things will work a little more smoothly now that we have an outlet in the midfield. That was supposed to be Aquilani but he didn't do it consistently...hopefully Pirlo inserted will see less long balls from the back launched forward.

Hopefully we have a solid RB that the other 3 won't have to compensate for and vice versa for Ziegler on the left.

Our transfers are definitely on the wrong path at the moment, I can't see any improvement to be honest but I am hoping to get proven wrong.
If we don't get some very good RB and some more moves that are actually quality, I might skip the next season. I mean, why bother. This season was everything but enjoyment. But TBH if we sign 2 great players we can make this squad good, but the question is - can we?

So there's a reason to say this transfer is good?

His terrible performances would be less seen in a team like Barcelona or Manchester, maybe. But why does that matter? We're not on that level and we're just building a full mediocre squad at the moment. With Pazienza it's
Calm down dude, it's not like we would have signed Oddo. :D

Where did I say he was a good signing?

Ziegler is a better player than a lot of people will give him credit for, but he still barely adds anything to the quality of the starting XI.

Pazienza aside, we still haven't spent a penny on anyone yet and just reinforced 2 major holes that Gross/Aquilani/De Ceglie couldn't do...and we did it for free. I know Pazienza isn't huge, but for depth and selling Sissoko and his wage bill is fine with me. Again, Pazienza aside, we still have not dropped one dime on anyone other than salaries.

If we sell the major bucket load of shit I just posed a few posts back that gives us more than enough to play with to bring two WC players.

Fake fan! :D Even if we get relegated to Serie C, I would be here hoping for the best.

Hope? I'll always hope but that doesn't have to mean I have to watch that torture on the pitch.

So what credit is that if he doesn't add anything in the starting XI?

He's good if we're looking at Parma's options at LB?

He's mediocre but he IS better than Grosso. I don't see any confusion there. If he is, and he is, better than Grosso that doesn't have to mean people should give him any credit. Him as a player is average, which is pretty much the essence of that 'credit'.

I wouldn't be so dramatic as to skipping a season, it's just silly. I am already planning a trip to Italy for the coming season regardless of we get and where we stand.

As for signing two great players, I think we can but it depends on how to attract them. Projects should not be mentioned in negotiations, they should be attracted by having the privilege of wearing the Juve jersey, even during negotiations they should be aware of what it is like to be a Juventus player. Projects and visions put a lot of pressure that some, even great players, cannot handle.

You do realize that our weakest spot was actually defense this season? So what makes you feel better that we haven't spend any penny so far? If we're putting a free mediocre Ziegler on one of our most vulnerable position, what gives you the positive hope we'll spend actually? And if we do, it's not going to be defense. Like it or not, so far we have

Ziegler - Chiellini - Bonucc- X

I at least that is pathetic looking defense at this point.

Fantasy football:

Buffon
?-Bonucci-Chiellini-Ziegler
Pirlo-Melo-Marchisio
Krasic-Matri Aguero

Buffon
?-Bonucci-Chiellini-Ziegler
Krasic-Pirlo-Melo-Hazard
Matri-Aguero

We could spend 40-60m and get one of Aguero or Hazard or even both. Plus a RB.

I exaggerate always when I say some crap like that. I'd watch it of course, especially because of the new stadium, but chances are big that I'd be less interested if we don't get any quality player now. The thing is, if we sign Bastos we already know 90% of the new teams look and by looking at it, it's far from being good enough.

Who knows, maybe Ziegler wasn't even brought to be a starter? Maybe De Ceglie will be sold and they will purchase another. Hell, maybe a new CB will come and Chiellini goes out left. The market isn't even open yet for fuck sakes and we already have 2 people in line to improve.

We had Grosso/Traore as backup to DC...now we have Ziegler/DC which is a hell of a lot better than the first 2 I mentioned and again the market isn't even open yet. You put a capable RB next to Bonucci and God willing no injuries next season so our back 4 can play consistently together you will see improvements.

Are you implying that Pirlo would be coming off the bench? Or do you not even acknowledge his existence on the squad?

I really have no idea. He will probably start over Marchisio, at least initially in a 442 unless we sell Melo. I think that will be the starting duo in the middle, and all 3 would play in a 433.

I am only making these formations based off of what we currently have and what we could get.

what would it look like Dusie?
Buffon

X - Bonucci - Chiellini - Ziegler

Krasic - Melo - Pirlo - Bastos

Matri - X

Or 4-3-3 with Marhisio, but then again, no new players in it. Probably.

Of course he'll start for us. You can hope, but you will be proven otherwise.

No way he accept a bench role just to come here.
