There was always a likelihood of us playing the 4-4-2/4-2-4. Its Conte's preferred formation.

There are players in that team capable of playing above the status quo but not enough. With a team like that, there's a lot of uncertainty regarding the performance of individuals bar (Chiellini and Buffon) and at its best it could be relatively successful.
