Pretty expensive as well.

If only we could find another bargain price like we paid for Barzagli. What a steal that was.

I wish we had a list of free agents in the summer. Preferably defenders.

Mark usually post one come summer. Walter Samuel is the only known defender that I know off at the moment

Suarez or Higuain and we'll be good. We need a CF who can score regularly really badly.
Suárez is a good player, don't get me wrong, but every time I've seen him play for Liverpool I have realised how much he should be playing alongside a #9 striker. He does a lot good but his finishing and movement aren't comparable to someone like Higuaín, who you see as his alternative. If he were to join, think about him replacing Vucinic instead. He has 6 goals in 20 starts for Liverpool in the league, for example.

Neither. Conte should come up with a rotational system. He switched formations often too so whenever we play a 3-5-2 those three can play together. And with the CL, league and copa were bound to get injuries\suspention and don't forget Barza is 30 and Hummels hasn't even hit 25 yet.
Strong defenses are built upon them being a unit which consistently plays with each other. I'm not sure why you'd want to start a rotational system in our current defense, we have Barzagli who is exceeding all expectations, and Chiellini is back to producing some of his best form, performing very well with each other at the moment.

Also, given the needs of this team, I'm not sure why you'd opt to get a CB that would cost a significant amount. There are bigger problems in the squad that need attention.

Ok if it was entirely up to me, I would sell:

Bonucci (8-10m)
Elia (7-8m)
Krasic (7-8m)
Melo (10m - still haven't got the money till after season)
Quagliarella (12m)
Borriello (was a loan)
Martinez (3m)
Padoin (6m)
Del Piero (going anyway)

Total Proceeds: close to EU50-55m

BUY: Van Persie EU40m
BUY: Giovinco 7m for 50%
BUY: Nesta - FREE just big wages
BUY: Left back - a decent one for 10m.
GET: Immobile (he is ours)

NET SPEND? CLOSE TO ZERO

Want to spend some money? OK, then get a talented wide player or attacking midfielder like Robben or Ribery and spend another 30-40m.

Our squad will be smaller but we will have more quality.

Squad for ZERO net outlay:

Buffon
Storari
Manninger

Lichsteiner
Caceres
Nesta
Barzagli
Chiellini
LEFT BACK for 10m? (Kolarov?)
De Ceglie

Pirlo
Vidal
Marchisio
Marrone
Youngsters - Pogba, Appelt and Bouy
Giaccherini
Pepe (hey great utility player)

Giovinco
Van Persie
Matri
Vucinic
Immobile

I doubt we'll get Higuain unless he wants us. I can see ManCity and PSG coming into the picture and doubling anything we can offer. Marrotta isn't exactly a negotiator for big players either. In this case it'll depend on the will of the player. If he wants Juventus then a whole lot will change. Dzeko may well be a realistic target, as will Torres. The one I feel is almost like a guarantee though is, Rossi. If Conte doesn't object, I'm pretty sure he's the first guy Marrotta will want to sign.

I think his movement is actually very good, his finishing isn't bad either. But it isn't easy playing in this Liverpool team, he gets very little service.

I compared those attributes to Higuaín's, and I think he's a lot better suited to playing alongside a centre forward and he should be part of the service.

If I remember correctly, he played in the wide forward role at Ajax as well.

Edit: I don't think his finishing is bad either, as that might suggest. I think a lot (too much?) of responsibility goes to him as a forward in Liverpool.

Suarez is not a finisher.we need someone like Higuain/Dzeko/RVP for that role.
And someone like Suarez/Lavezzi/Jojo/Robben for the wing/SS role.

Would Madrid sell Di Maria? Is he starting this season?
He was starting at the beginning of they year, then sometimes Mourinho started using Kaka and Ozil at the same time so Di Maria was relegated to the bench and he's been injured for a while now again.
I guess for the right offer they'll sell him, especially if they get someone like Hazard, Neymar...
