I think Naingolan and Pizarro will both come in this window, the latter on a loan with perhaps no obligation. Naingolan Marrone and Pizarro is as good as depth can get. However DC Caceres, Licht, Chiellieni, Barzagli, Bonnucci is way too thin, espesh if Marrotta is considering letting DC go.
If we really sign all 3 and keep DC, I will be very happy with our January market!

Zamparini:"Marotta was the first one to ask for Pastore. Then Conte arrived and everything changed."
Wonder how are team would of looked if Pastore arrived as we would of have to of changed our system and probably wouldn't of signed Vidal or Vucinic.

I would actually like to know what Marotta's plan would of been to make us a competitive team if we spent all our budget on Dzeko that time or even Aguero.

Did he expect to sign other players through sales?

That would of back fired big time seeing Amauri and Iaquinta refused to leave.

it was rumoured that Delneri wanted Pastore.

He even said it openly during a confress that he wil fit Pastore in a 4-4-2 like he did with Doni at Atalanta.

We are only winning because of hard work and the willingness of the players to make sacrifices. If we don't put in 100% every game, we drop points. We can't afford being pedestrian or dropping our energy levels. We lack the spark, that element of surprise, the creativity that at least one player used to provide back in our heyday. We used to have the likes of Platini, Laudrup, Baggio, Zidane, a Del Piero in his prime, Nedved, all players capable of that moment of magic/brilliance. Sadly, we don't have that anymore.

We could do with a big name/game changer right about now. Our attack has gone a bit stale wouldn't you agree? Someone like Tevez, only without his mindset of course.
It's true that a player with star quality would be nice right about now, but then you'd have to wonder if the rest of the team would have been this complete had the board spent a lot of money on one name.

We are fine now, but a star player or two are definitely a requirement once we qualify for the CL. I don't want us to embarrass ourselves, and I don't think we'd go far (probably not even beyond the group stage) with Pepe and Matri as starters.

Good point. Well if we win ourselves a CL spot then we should just be looking to add two or three top class players to finish out the team.

Like I said, a backup CM and LB are imperative in the winter mercato.

That should set us up nicely for the summer mercato, where we should focus on procuring 3 quality players (CB, RWF, and ST/CF), instead of 7-8 very average ones.

For next season I think we need at least two world class players for the CL, one up top and maybe one in defence. The thought of Pepe playing in the CL is like reading a Stephen King novel, fucking terrifying. We do need a sprinkling of quality right now, too many workhorses and not enough flair. Our great sides of the past had the right balance between the two.

PSG are trying to recreate the glory days when they had Weah and Ginola; such classy players  :touched:

I don't see how it's impossible for us to make 3 quality signings in the summer. I'm not saying 3 WC players like Suarez, Tevez, Benzema, but rather one marquee signing (and no, Rossi is not a caliber player, so I don't consider his acquisition as anything special), and 2 quality players for CB and RWF (we need an upgrade on Pepe; he disgusts and frustrates me).

Marquee signing: one of Suarez, Jovetic, Ozil, Benzema, Higuain

Quality upgrade for RWF: one of Shaqiri, Ramirez, Gotze

CB (in rotation with Barza and Chiello): Benatia or Hummels

The total cost of these 3 operations should not exceed 60 Million Euros, but will significantly improve and strengthen the squad. It's not impossible as some of you make it out to be.

However, we need to get the right players in January, in order to be able to strengthen significantly in June. A LB and backup CM are a priority now; those deals should've been taken care of before the meaningless signing of the walking STD from Roma.
i agree with the RWF upgrade, since its realistic
Getting two regular starters from real madrid ?
not sure if we can afford both rwf and hummels

we dont have the cash for those players in januari, unless they'd come at a price that would be better then june
like perhaps guarin

there are 32 teams in the CL group stage, and many will have players inferior to those you name

what you say, is exactly the problem of the last years, we want to go to fast, to soon and ended up with 90 mil deBt

we should see what we can do with our budged, and should under no circumstance be forced to buy players that are financially a risk
