This forum has some really fucked up opinions in mass. Seriously.

Chiellini not a top CB? After the Ghostisio saga? And the Buffon already passed it chapter? Or the Melo "one of the best in his position and our best player of the season" myth? Alongside with the unreasonable need to get rid of one of our key assets of the current season? Aight.

Underrated, was that the word you were looking for?

Thiago Silva is simplistic. CR7 became a simplistic player over the years. Zidane was simplistic. Not a wise choice of words, man. ;)
Well. To be honest, Marchisio was a ghost past couple of seasons.

Melo was our best player last season.

And yeah, Chiellini is very overrated here. He is a fine CB, but not one of the best in the world. Certainly not right now. In the future? You never know.

Chiellini is great, the thing about that he always owns Zingaro, it's just not Zingaro he owns, he does it for Gli Azzuri and Juventus often when he plays against big stars like Drogba,Villa... Lets see what he can do with good partners in the defence. Im 100% sure he would be one of the best CBs if he played in Man Utd or City or Real, in Juventus he has been our best defender in a defence that has been up and down the last years. Lichensteiner-Barzagli-Chiellini-Caceres would be a good defence IMO, I think this will make him better, it's not easy to play with De Ceglie/ Motta/Molinaro/Grygera, ofcourse a defence need to work and all the players most help eachother and make eachother better. Sure we can say that some defenders make their teammates better, but come on what could even Vidic or T.Silva do with Molinaro or Motta? Just look at Antonini in Milan he suck and even if T.Silva saves him sometimes, they are getting hurt often when he plays.

True.

He's had fuckups next to him couple of years now, but that doesn't excuse his on errors though.

Let's see how he plays the next years.

Haha people talk shit here. Chiellini is not the best defender in the world, but he is without a doubt a world class defender and only Tiago Silva, Pique, Kompany might be better.. The rest can suck it. He has not been on top form in some matches this year, but the last 2-3 season was fantastic by him and we would have ended 15'th without him in defence.

True, who says he is the best defender in the world. That is to high thoughts about Chiellini even for a big fan like me. He is when in form one of the best IMO.

I just realized Borriello turned us down before. Why the fuck are we going after him again? This would never have happened under the old management; they'd have just told him to go fuck himself. We gave you your chance son, and you turned it down. Now fuck off somewhere else. It's like taking in an old gf after she has fucked up your life. Why would you want her back anyway? The past should stay in the past! This management are kinda soft.

In any case, all signs point to a quantity intensive rather than a quality intensive winter Mercato.

Borriello seems like an unnecessary transfer. One of Del Piero, Quags or Borriello won't even make the bench. But if we can have him for 6 months at 1m then its not a disastrous transfer either. Borriello I think can be used in Vucinic's position as well.

Caceres is a good transfer. I always liked him. He can be erratic but he has matured a lot. Solid in defense, versatile (can play anywhere across the back 4), and can be decent going forward too. If Caceres can settle well into the left back position, he could be the transfer of the winter season window for us. Left back is the most obvious weakness in our starting X1.

One thing I want to see eventually is the back of Bonucci. To me, he can have good games, but is painfully too inconsistent and has some shocking games. I simply don't feel comfortable with him. If we can get 8-10m (which i think is his market value), I would not hesitate to sell him to bring in a world class Chiellini partner. Meanwhile Barzagli is doing a great job - he has actually been more reliable than Chiellini this season.

I'd be happy with Caceres and wouldn't be too upset if Boriello stays ONLY for 6 months. Hopefully Krasic to Chelski for 15+millions!

Also is there any news about Hummels? Are still linked to us? A defender like him would get the best out of Chiellini (who IS world class....and wtf is a pique?)in my humble opinion.
