Why are we even looking for this injured and benched player?
Cabal, Niko, Milik, Adzic are not enough and we want to add another injury prone in JJ medical list!

Lloyd Kelly:

With higuain, we were closer to the Champions League than CR7. We overpaid but he is the best nine we had in the last decade now. CR7 was a failed experiment but it's cool to see him play for us. We should have won that game against Ajax. I think that was our best chance at the ucl. After that, Tici and covid fucked the club beyond repairs...

Ronaldo was far better than Higuain. The only issue was that the rest of the team suffered because of him.

The overall squad that Higuain played in was much stronger.

Just get it over with. If we thought summer mercato was chaotic, this is some next level shit.
You think this is chaotic? Just wait until this upcoming summer when we will have half of the starting squad on dry loans that still need to be sorted out or on obligations to buy that we have to pay up, nevermind the likes of Vlahovic that are also entering the last year of contract, basically another year zero to build from…

Factor in also potentially missing out on UCL money and that’s why next mercatto has even more potential to be the most disappointing one yet.

Hmm, you'd think the plan has been set. Buy-out everyone except for Veiga maybe and try to sell all those remaining high salaries.

Also the positions that need upgrading / filling are pretty straight forward. But I guess something will happen and fucks things over, yeah :D

again, almost every player is replaceable, especially in this squad. but selling one of the best italian fullbacks sends the wrong message, you can't build a team for years to come like that. he's one of our best players currently and selling him mid season simply screams small club mentality

even 60m is pretty money for a fullback though, so there's that

I do agree that we know the gaps that need to be filled or upgraded atm in the current squad, but next summer half of this current squad still needs to be sorted out too because many are here only as a dry loan or with obligation/option to buy, and it will require considerable resources to get just some of them done, which is my main point, let alone the unpredictable panic sells and buys we might witness depending on where we finish this season…

Also rn the Cambiaso exit rumors claiming it to be a sure deal as late as next summer, then you got Vlahovic who will be sold on a low fee due to the expiring contract which will also mean two of our most key players need to be replaced accordingly, making it potentially the most chaotic summer mercatto we’ve had yet.
