well we have Pjanic, Matuidi, Marchisio, Khedira, Bentancur, Sturaro currently, as far as CMs go. lets assume Khedira leaves and Can comes, who else do we sell to make space for a high profile player like Fabinho? hed be at the top of the pecking order together with Pjanic and Matuidi, then there are Marchisio and Can who also would play quite the minutes, so thats 5 CMs with big minutes. goodbye Bentancur then i guess. get either him or Can id say
stu and Sami should see the door

3 man midfield:

Marchisio, pjanic, Matuidi, Bencantur Can, SMS/Fabinho

6 players for rotation. People would certainly stop bitching because that would be a pretty damn good midfield selection for max.

Can would be cheap/free and we can go all out for one Top class CM

in theory that works but we dont know what formation we will use next season, and we have been keeping the 4 defenders, 2 mids, 2 wide players and HD upfront for a while now, so its to be seen if we move away from it anytime soon. 5 of those you mentioned would be enough, as id like to see Bentancur take a bigger role next season, regardless if 2 or 3 man midfield. ideally we would skip on Can (even though hes a great opportunity) and add Fabinho, who i can see do the "Matuidi vs Napoli role" as a wide CM on the right side (hes been a RB before after all) when needed, so would open up more playing time opportunities for Bentancur.

anyway, its too early to talk about next season but if we assume we will keep the 2 CMs - 2 wide players formula, then we only really need one CM to replace Khedira, and give Bentancur more responsibilities to further grow

We obviously did NOT give him the opportunity to leave. The rest is just plain and simple guessing. And I always spoke with 'IF' for a reason...

Still curious about better suggestions than Ghoulam 'though. Of course realistic ones...
The only obvious aspect here is the fact you are the one making assumptions, i can only advice you to not give credibility to every fake rumour that pops up. Alex Sandro is staying at least till summer and even if he is to go it has nothing to do with us 'forcing’ him to stay during the summer , Beppe even said if hisself with clear intentions of pointing out AS’s desire to stay... all this crap has been invented by the media, if someone is off-form and sits out of some game every now and than does not necessarily mean he wants to leave the club or holds some sort of grudge towards it.

To answear your question regarding Ghoulam, even tho he just renewed with Napoli a couple of hours ago which makes him a even more unrealistic target(realistic maybe only by a huge transfer fee), tho i am still going to consider him as a 'realistic’ option to make my point.

List of Realistic/Approachable Left-Backs that are better or at least on the same level as Ghoulam. All the players i am about to mention are more or less on the same 'price-tag’ and availability as Ghoulam.

Juan Bernat - Bayern Munchen
Ricardo Rodriguez - Ac Milan
Filipe Luiz - Atletico Madrid
Lucas Digne - Barcelona
Fabio Coentrao - Sporting Lisbon
Jose Gaya - Valencia
Sead Kolasinak - Arsenal
Laiyin Kurzawa - PSG
Wendell - Bayern Leverkusen
Luke Shaw - Man United
Etc. etc. etc....

Than the more 'fantasy football’ options for Left-back would be:

Davide Alaba - Bayern munchen
Marcelo - Real Madrid
Cezar Azpilicueta - Chelsea
Jordy Alba - Barcelona
Benjamin Mendy - Man Citty
Raphael Guerreiro - Borussia Dortmund

Now lets be honest, there are plenty of full-backs out there if it would come to replacing him... but none come even close to a on-form Alex Sandro, especially not Ghoulam or the likes which would cost probably 10x more than what it would cost to keep Asamoah fighting for his place with Spinazzola. (I see Asamoah in current form as on same level with Ghoulam as an example)

Marotta also said we would not buy Higuain, before splashing 90 million a week later. You don't buy that shit, do you? Conte was really angry over the summer because we kept rejecting bids.

Of course AS is not leaving this winter... But I don't like many of those options you named. Either too old or too mediocre. Digne or Coentrao; really? Filipe Luiz is 1. unrealistic and 2. towards the end of his career. Maybe Jose Gaya but I don't know him enough.

People are selling Alex Sandro already? :D

Reminder: Marotta said he's having some personal issues.

Don't fall prey to every shitty rumor.

Even if he leaves, obviously it won't be in winter.

Spinazzola as AS replacement... :D Ghoulam also being overrated.

That's who I was thinking of too. However, those two tore their ACL back in the late 90's. A lot of progress has been made since.

Ghoulam has been the best performing left back in Serie A this season. 5 assists in 17 games is something even Marcelo would be proud of, and he's not too shaby defensively either.

As for your claim that Spinazzola is better than Ghoulam, I really don't know what to say. :facepalm2:
Good point
